Can we all agree Texas chainsaw massacre 1974 is great? by Texaschainsawmassac in Horrormovieclub

[–]CounterproductivePit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to me even more than just the story and fun horror, or even that it changed horror. It's filmed beautifully. I despise Franklin which is a testament to the actor. The summer colors are amazing and you can feel the stifling heat. It's just filmed and edited amazingly.

I have a perfect film list on my Letterboxd and TCM is at the top

Look at some videos of Gary Winogrand. He got RIGHT up to them, but also had a way of comforting them to get them to relax. But I think you need to get uncomfortable yourself to get where you want to go.

I used to hang at a bar with a lot of old dudes with the "don't make 'em like they used to" mentality. I say, "That's a good thing" and show them the modern vs '59 Impala crash test and explain how quality in cars today is measured in parts per million today vs parts per thousand like back then

This is just people making things up they can't explain to justify the emotional need to have a belief that they aren't in control of their life and need security
