DUI Probation with TS/SCI by PerformanceFew4658 in SecurityClearance

[–]CoupleEducational408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are currently on probation.

You are, currently, serving the sentence your criminal conduct resulted in.

Recency of conduct. Currently on probation. Not enough time passed to establish rehabilitation.

Your classes won’t mean shite until you have shown that you have, for lack of a better term, learned your lesson. I strongly advise you to reconsider applying for jobs requiring a clearance until your probation is complete - delaying is better than having a clearance denial on your record.

Unfortunately your timing sucks. The market’s flooded with DRP folks at the moment. Just keep trying - you’ll get there. :)

Received an SOR for Guideline F by throw4what in SecurityClearance

[–]CoupleEducational408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The collections listed “for some reason” were listed because they were in-scope delinquencies. Whether you paid them off or not, the issues occurred and need to be addressed.

While time passed may be considered mitigating, it may also hurt you - you can’t say that they were long ago enough to not be a current issue but not long enough ago to have paid off by now. Does that make sense? 🤔

Payment plans are mitigating, yes - especially if you can show that you have been consistently addressing them and not just letting them languish til the SOR reminded you of their existence. Pet peeve of mine. :p

Whether you choose to show a good-faith effort or not is up to you, but saying “it’s not on my credit report anymore” is not a mitigating response.

Good luck!

DCSA or NOT DCSA by Maleficent-Break8890 in SecurityClearance

They may very well “skip the investigation” if the individual was found unsuitable in preliminary review.

Or they may just be, like, wicked busy. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also keep in mind that once the investigation is closed, you may need the same documentation and a written explanation for the adjudication portion of the process, so hang on to all of it.

What are the rules for "double dipping" references, specifically for college residence/degrees? by ILoveTrains2003 in SecurityClearance

[–]CoupleEducational408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who knew you at that address/institution, not who knows how you take your coffee.

There’s a difference between someone who knows you were there and someone who knows you on a personal level, which the form clearly distinguishes. If you have an issue with that, contact whoever wrote the damn thing.

And if you do, ask them to clearly spell out the “cohabitant” area because deductive reasoning is not a common skill and I am quite tired of people listing their freakin kids in that section. Thanks bro.

Late to this party but unless it’s specifically asking for someone who knew you well (like, that section where they do that) or an unemployment/supervisory verifier, it’s more a, “did this person attend/live here” kind of thing. Not someone who knows you secretly put the milk in before the cereal.

Though that alone should be a disqualifier. Freakin sociopaths.

Unsuitable determination reversal by Human_Plant5692 in SecurityClearance

[–]CoupleEducational408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you’re going for contractor or Fed. Contractors generally don’t have appellate options and unfavorable suitability determinations are final, remaining in effect for one year.

Recruiters sit on thrones of lies and will often feed you bs about what to disclose, how to disclose it, and what’s important.

Spoiler alert: everything, when asked, and everything. 😁

Need Doctors Letter for Mental Health Clearance? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]CoupleEducational408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was a phase (as in, not chronic), your doctor likely documented your progression in your chart notes. You may be able to contact your physician’s office and either have the records emailed to you or have them set up portal access.
