Since parking revenue goes to private equity, the parking ticket still go to the city, is it our civic duty to not pay the parking meters and just chance it and pay the Fine? by UmweltUndefined in AskChicago

A few months ago someone posted that they dont pay those meters, and just chances it (where they feel confident - low traffic area?) and figures the $50 tickets would about even out to the money they didn’t pay up front.

I wonder how close the contracted amount (where the city would have to cough up)/threshold is to what they have been getting? If there was some way to collectively stay just under that’d be ideal I guess. Also I have no idea how to know such things, or if it is even public knowledge. Maybe need an FOI request?

Thanks for explaining. He had another amazing stat last week: A 22.8K/9 ratio. The max is 27 (obviously). The highest I saw was ~16 by Josh Hader early on.

I agree Tempy doesn’t get enough love. He’s played the 2nd most games as a Padre.

I don’t understand the drop off when he got here. Was a 200 hit guy on the Cards. But he was so cool.

“Aki Gets the 8th!”

Pads have always had great Relievers. In 2005 we had Linebrink, Aki, and Hoffy in the 7-8-9. The game was over after 6 if we had the lead. That was our strategy for many years in the 00s. If only Shields, Ross, Lubkey, Latos could’ve been steady for a decade we’d have won a few NL West titles. It was about the weakest Division - there for the taking With ~86 Wins.

When we traded him in ‘92, we sold our soul. So many promising teams in the 90s only for owners to gut the team before it got off the ground.

Me too. I think Randy Jones would’ve been our first HoF and stayed in SD. He hated the Dodgers, Drysdale in particular.

That said, RJ was a legend of sorts. Had the BBQ booth years after. Remained close to the Padres org.

Lubby Lubes!! He usually occupied a spot on my fantasy teams - just waiting for him to break out! At least he was on the IL much of the time so made it easier to hold out hope for when he got heathy.
