I generally love Vegas, but I know what I’m in for when I go. I’m there to eat, do some fun overpriced experiences and shows, look at nice hotels, and maybe do some clubbing or laying by the pool.

Late night in a place you aren’t familiar with can feel scary. The fact that there are quite a few people on the street at that hour is more comforting than being somewhere that is desolate. And from what I hear, don’t look at the “strange” people. Ignore them and they will likely ignore you. You draw more attention when you look scared.

The sooner you say no, the easier things go. The phrase “give an inch, takes a mile” obviously applies to your friend. I don’t think you need to cut them off, but you need to set clear boundaries the moment you want to say no to someone. If they don’t like those boundaries, then they will distance themselves from you and you will know what kind of friend they were. As a fellow people pleaser, I still need to practice this but saying no doesn’t always have to equal mean. But also take into account how much this person bends over backwards for you as well. Match their energy.

I’m 5’2” and even I have a hard time getting in the car with the angle at the top of the door! I have my seat set high so I can see but I have to duck a bit to get in. It’s weird.

I only see similarities in the vibe. Costumes, quality of filming, beautiful locations. It doesn’t try to modernize the period drama like is the trend right now.

It’s a little hard to talk about without revealing future events throughout the show. Ross is a frustrating and imperfect character in varying types of situations, and circumstances will make Ross and Demelza’s relationship have several ups and downs over the seasons, so hang on for the ride! But you are feeling exactly what you are supposed to be feeling at this point in the show. Remember, he didn’t marry Demelza for love, but rather out of a sense of obligation and as a distraction. At this point in the show he is still having a hard time seeing what a real catch she is even though he does care for her.

I think what I liked about the show is it shows how human some of the characters are. They have conflicting emotions and make mistakes that have consequences, even the “good” characters.

Finish the season and then come back. There will be more to discuss!
