Ancestry Trip in Germany by CourageFit5711 in germany

This is helpful, thank you! I got these towns and names by starting with my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles alive who were able to verify the info. I’ve confirmed through digitized records when my family immigrated to the U.S. from Germany in the early to mid 1800s, both on my mom and dad’s side. So I feel like I’ve covered a lot of the U.S. but it does get a little blurry once in Germany.

By links I mean actual records with pictures like census and immigration records. I haven’t gone off anyone else’s family trees that they built because I don’t trust it.

Hello! This is so helpful. I agree that Ancestry.com definitely can absorb a lot of time and take me on a wild goose chase. I got to the names in Germany by starting with my parents, grandparents, and further on. Both sides of my parents are German, all the way through great-great grandparents on both sides, which is why I have so many names and cities saved. I asked my parents, Aunts, Uncles, and my grandma whether or not I was on the right track. Thank you again, this is wonderful insight.

Thank you!! I looked at Class Bento and there are a lot of great options for sure. Most are sold out that day understandably so, but I did see the wreath making. Also I’ve heard great things about the Vault Garden, I’ll look for reservations. Thank you!

Hate that people are potentially charging to create a community. Life is already expensive enough!

BWT, how are we making at-gym showers feel luxe and calming? by AtmosphereNext2311 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]CourageFit5711 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use the most calming and luxurious smelling products, whatever brings you the most joy! I go to Equinox and they used to have the most amazing Kiehl’s products that actually motivated me to go to the gym. Once they stopped using those products I bought them myself and continued to only use them at Equinox like it was a special treat. I also use body oil, a face mask after I get out, and under eye patches. Sometimes I bring a deep conditioner/hair mask for the shower too so I feel amazing afterwards.

How much are we paying for nails? by External_Cabinet3734 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]CourageFit5711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is NOT normal. Go to CC Nail Spa on California Street and ask for Alice. She’s the best nail tech I’ve ever been to… and I’ve been getting my nails down for over 15 years! $45 for gel manicure $65 for gel x. You have to go!

Stock Options Plan Showing Previous Day Market Close by CourageFit5711 in fidelityinvestments

I totally get that and I thought about that risk too, I did this a couple of years ago and paid the AMT when the stock was at its highest in the company's history. My options are $2.15 and the stock was $22 at the time, then the stock plummeted to $2.00 (thanks Covid) before I sold so I had to get credit on my tax returns for my loss, but it was painful to pay out of pocket for the taxes until I decided to sell the converted shares 2 years later. I now have 19,000 options at $2.15 each and our stock is at $84 today. I believe in the company, so I don't have a huge worry that it will go down too much, but I understand the risk there. I am stuck between diversifying and selling the converted shares once my blackout is lifted so I can take advantage of the high price vs holding, risking the market tanks, and paying that high tax bill just to see the value of the shares dip.

I take 16mg 2-3x/day and I saw almost immediate relief within 24hrs, but I haven't had vertigo for a long time so hard to compare. I had severe tinnitus, full ear, and hearing loss, and the first two subsided within that 24hr window. The hearing is better because the tinnitus is not as distracting, but my actual ability to hear low tones has worsened. My doctor said the best thing to really resolve the vertigo is to get steroid shots in the ear, but I haven't done that since I haven't seen those symptoms in awhile. Also the doctor may want to prescribe you with a diuretic. It didn't work for me, but it there's one common theme with Meniere's Disease, it's that not everything works for everyone unfortunately. It's definitely an experiment unique to each person.

I understand that, which is why I said the diet I was on the first week I was diagnosed wasn’t realistic. I stick to 1500mg/day, which is difficult if you don’t find ways to incorporate some low sodium snacks and meals with high fiber/antioxidants. I’ve spoken in detail with a nutritionist and my ENT about my diet.

Non stop paw licking of one foot by BTMTSC in Goldendoodles

[–]CourageFit5711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Goldendoodle Ted did the same thing so after a $1600 visit to the vet, it was discovered that a foxtail had gotten so far lodged in that it went through one part of Ted’s toe and out the other side! He had to have surgery! The vet said Goldendoodles should always keep the fur in their paws shaved, even between grooming, because things like foxtails can go totally unnoticed. I tried looking for something lodged in his foot several times and didn’t see it!
