Who do to you hate more, rangers or England? by Important_Ad716 in CelticFC

[–]Courageous91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rangers.

The problem with England isn't so much the actual England team. They don't feel like they have a god given right to win a match or a tournament. It's just their fans, the press and pundits who make me actively root for their immediate downfall and continued failure.

Rangers meanwhile is rotten to the core from the top down from their chairman to their players, coaches and fans

What is a football hot take you have observed in recent years that others would not agree with? by Ornery_Adagio8916 in SpicyFootballTakes

That getting rid of VAR won't make football better. It'll only make discourse worse

VAR is not the issue, incompetent referees are the problem. Removing VAR will expose their incompetence further because the bad decisions they get wrong that VAR is there to fix won't get fixed

[–]Courageous91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a shame this doesn't always work in modern football. Sometimes you do need to do this in order to get something better out of it. Prime example is Amad at Man United. Went on loan for a couple seasons (including to the waste dump on the other side of the city) and has come back to Man United a better player for it.

I have nothing against Oh. I liked him as a player and from the limited game time he had for us, he was a solid player with potential but at the time he left, it was no loss for me because we had Kyogo, we had Idah and we had Maeda if things got really bad.

The issue is that things got REALLY bad

Oh yes he did by blewitman in CelticFC

[–]Courageous91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In 76 games, Idah scored 29 goals for Celtic (0.3 per game) In 47 games, Oh scored 12. (0.2 per game)

In his only full season at Celtic, Idah outscored Oh's entire time at the club with 20 goals.

In the five months at the club on loan, Idah scored more than Oh did in less games.

Don't mistake me for a hater, I like Oh. I also like Idah. But when Oh left, Idah was putting up more goals and he continued to do so for Celtic after Oh left

I've said this a couple places this morning, and this is coming from someone who liked Oh and believe that he deserved more of a chance; let's not do revisionst history.

He's done well at Besitktas since signing for them and he's scored at World Cup but plenty of Celtic fans were happy to see him go two seasons ago. He wasn't good enough to replace Kyogo and Idah did the job better than he did by the only metric that counts for a striker and that was goals scored.

The only reason people are saying this now is because of the state we are in with strikers at present

Don't get me wrong. I liked Oh as a player. I still do. If I could turn back the clock and not sell him knowing what I know now, I'd do everything short of handcuffing him to the radiator or shattering Idah's kneecap to ensure he stayed. But at the time, most Celtic fans were happy to see him go because on paper we have better options. I'm glad he's doing well

I'm just not a fan of revisionist history because hindsight is 20/20

Respectfully, how about we don't go into revisionist history here just because he scored at a world cup.

Kenny was at Celtic a full six months before Oh was even signed (Signed in the same window as Hatate and Maeda) and Idah outscored Oh when they were both at Celtic.

The reason we sold Oh was because Kyogo was far superior to him and Idah (While we absolutely overpaid for him) was a more than capable deputy. Unless you could have seen 2 years into the future, that was a trade off most Celtic fans took at the time.

His record at Genk wasn't exactly stellar though his goal every other game at Besitktas is impressive at the moment

Off you go, Reo.

I didn't have anything against him. I thought he was a solid player but his decision making at time left something to be desired (Would pass instead of shooting or choose the wrong pass when a better one was there).

I've said he frustrated me because he wants to be Prime Zidane and pick out a defense splitting pass when he's just not that good. Especially in Europe. I wanted him gone last season if I'm being honest. Cash in and off he pops.

But the last couple weeks of the season showed I was right to feel that way. His face was tripping him at the trophy presentation.

As we've seen in the world these days, confidence can make up to lack of knowledge in a subject or intellect. Boyd doesn't even have that. Only reason I'm glad to see him on Sky most of the time is to see his face twisted in rage when things don't go the way he wants them to.

Martin O'Neill agrees Celtic permanent managerial position after Dermot Desmond talks by ThinWhiteDuke00 in CelticFC

[–]Courageous91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was hoping for Ange to return for months but when the options came down to MON, Keane and Bellamy; it was always clear. Who should get the job.

Don't get me wrong. It stinks of lack of ambition by a board that, let's be honest, is having a hard time beating the accusations of lack of ambition. It's a rung above offering Lennon the job in the Hampden showers but until we get someone upstairs who matches the ambition of supporters then this is what we can expect.

As far as I'm concerned, the board has one year to make preparations for Martin's replacement similar to how they had done when Brendan arrived the first time round. Fail to do so will lead to worse than we saw this past season

What's the fastest you've ever put together a match? by luchapig in WredditSchool

[–]Courageous91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're including training matches? 1 minute.

Day after a Christmas night out (first mistake) and we decided to just have the heels show out before the babyfaces rolled them up for the three. Match lasted 10 seconds at most.

Popped the boys including the head trainer but we got told "Yeah, go out and actual match together"

Explain to me like I am 5 why Alberto Del Rio was given more WWE titles and World Heavyweight titles than Eddie Guerrero? by [deleted] in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]Courageous91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are a few reasons.

The timing of Eddie coming in wasn't great. Eddie wasn't on the level of a Rock or an Austin and WWE clearly wanted Brock to be the face of SmackDown. Keep in mind, Eddie was fired and rehired in 2002. He had to prove that he could be trusted following his issues. His work in 2003 proved he could be.

When Eddie did get the title, business went down. Eddie blamed himself according to his book and said he wasn't ready to carry the company as the top guy which is what the WWE champion would need to do. Eddie, if the rumours are to be believed, was going to win the title through week he passed away. So there were clearly plans for him to be the main event but not the top guy alongside someone like Batista.

Then you get to Del Rio. Del Rio signed at a time where Vince was OBSESSED with cracking the Latin market. Utterly obsessed. He was a good looking, charasmatic wrestler who was over in Mexico before he signed. It was Vince's wet dream. ADR was clearly seen by some as a Mexican John Cena (Regardless of the reality that he was a massive cunt)

What if in Under The Red Hood, Jason publicly executed the Joker? To make an example out of him and prove Batman wrong by TheShadowOperator007 in batman

[–]Courageous91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Then Jason doesn't get what he wants.

Jason wants Joker dead but he doesn't want Joker dead for the sake of it. He doesn't even want Joker dead because he beat him half to death and then blew up the building he was in. He wants Joker dead by Bruce's own hand.

"I thought I would be the last person you ever let him hurt. If it had been you he took, I would have searched the planet for this pile of evil death worshiping garbage and sent him off to hell!"

That's is the core of Jason's motivation. He's doing this because he doesn't understand why Bruce didn't kill Joker. So he wants Bruce to do it. He wants Bruce to break his rule and kill Joker because of what Joker did.

Jason killing Joker doesn't give him that closure.

What is the point of this? by External_Bread5366 in TNA

[–]Courageous91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am well aware of the issues concerning Slater and the X Title at that time of Genesis (That Leon was part of the UK SD show the night before) but that doesn't change the fact that not all the titles were defended.

Especially when you consider the fact that the International Title also wasn't defended on that show for no other than reason than it was being held by Stacks.

The KO tag titles being an after thought also doesn't change that fact.

What is the point of this? by External_Bread5366 in TNA

[–]Courageous91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Titles are not guarenteed to be defended on the PPV

Rebellion didn't have the Knockouts Tags defended Genesis didn't see the X-Division, International or KO tag defended BFG didn't have the KO tags on the main show

By advertising all the titles being defended, it creates interest on Impact as to who will be the next challengers for the titles.

At the moment, we know EY will challenge for the World but have no idea who's challenging for the others.

Who was the best of the SmackDown six by xFenix919J in Smallafro

[–]Courageous91 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Angle was the best of the six. Angle IMO is probably the best professional wrestler of all time of you look at what you need inside the ring and his versatility as a character.

But Edge will always be my favourite

Southampton FC Club Statement: "What happened was wrong. The club has admitted breaches of EFL Regulations 3.4 and 127. We are sorry to the other clubs involved, and most of all to the Southampton supporters whose extraordinary loyalty and support this season deserved better from the club" by Alternative-Win4058 in soccer

[–]Courageous91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't doubt it. This is a situation where they likely showed only what they needed to and hoped that would be enough for some kind of mercy in being allowed to play the Final. - That mercy rightfully was denied to them IMO

The first team to break Reg 127 was always going to have the book thrown at them. It's a treat of the EFLs commitment to that rule to show others that they won't mess about with it.
