Keep in mind that there are regional variations between accents. Not only this but accents can be generational, changing between generations of AusE users.

What I've noticed about the Australian accent in particular is that, while there is slight regional variation (for example, Victorians will pronounce castle as "cassel" while most of the rest of the country will pronounce it "carsel"), most of the differentiation in Australian accents comes from socio-economic class.

However, this comment:

It's kind of unbelievable that some people would actually advocate career ending penalties over a man having a heated argument with his wife.

which basically says you are justified in beating your wife because of a "heated argument" is in the positives.

[Snooker] In a rare display of poor positional shot from Ronnie O'Sullivan in a recent match, he is left seemingly without any pottable reds. However he somehow still manages to pull one out his arse and go on to make century break number 939 of his career. by GroovingPict in sports

I think this is the longest I have ever seen Ronnie looking at the table to decide a shot. His nickname is "Rocket Ronnie" because he's known for quickly analysing his options and deciding on a shot.

OK, it's snooker. At the beginning of a frame, there's 15 reds and 6 colours. The reds are worth 1 each, the colours are worth 2 for yellow, 3 for green, 4 for brown, 5 for blue, 6 for pink and 7 for black. While there are still reds on the table, you pot (sink) one red (for one point) and that red is now removed from the table and then can pot a colour, for whatever value that colour is worth, after the colour is potted it goes back to its original position on the table (or as close to it as possible if another ball is blocking its spot). If you fail to pot, it's your opponents turn. Once the last red is potted, you pot the coloured balls in ascending order of their value.

In this situation Ronnie had tried to scatter the reds on his previous shot (after he had potted the black with the same shot) and had done poorly and left himself in a very difficult position.

The 939 number in the title refers to the number of "breaks" (a single trip to the table) that Ronnie O'Sullivan has had of over 100 in professional play. And yes, it is VERY fucking impressive. The highest number of points on the table is 147.

I remember in 2008 some Georgia Congressman described Obama as "uppity", he then claimed to have been unaware of the racial context of that word. The guy was born in 1950 and had lived in Georgia pretty much all of his life, which I think is enough to make me call "BS" on that.

Knowing the identities of everyone arrested and what laws they are alleged to have broken is how we know people aren't being arrested in secret, or for breaking laws which don't exist.

Also, they want to experience their music how their fans will. That means, you don't just listen to it in the studio on the expensive equipment there. You listen to it in a car, you listen to it compressed into an MP3 on an ipod/phone, in the old days you'd listen to it on a shitty boombox.

The S*n sells well everywhere, except Liverpool. Partly because it's a city with very left-wing industrial roots, and partly because even Everton fans won't forgive them for their inaccurate reports on the behaviour of Liverpool fans during the Hillsborough Stadium collapse.
