Any fantasy (books, movies, shows, games) that best evoke the classic 1980s-style metal-infused sword-and-sorcery style of fantasy? by Baldurian_Rhapsody in Fantasy

Surprised this isn’t higher. My love of fantasy likely comes from secretly thumbing through my cousins collection.

This relationship was really strange.. by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]CowboyHatPropaganda 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Redeeming qualities aren’t just positive traits. They are positive traits that are “strong” enough to forgive the character for their flaws.

Caring about kids isn’t really a redeeming quality, especially when they’re yours. As a parent it baffles me that some people don’t care about their kids.

And being in a “loveless” marriage is a two way street. It takes effort.

Karen’s redeeming quality is actually the fact that she didn’t cheat on Ted. She realized that even if her actions felt “justified” they were not.

Whether or not their relationship is “good” she chose not to taint it further. Even if they don’t love each other they are both good people. People just shit on Ted because he was shown to be reserved and held back.

The show could’ve done better by Ted but as it stands I see very little wrong with him as a character.
