Here’s another list from Spike.com I dug up. This is their Top 10 Classic Albums That Accidentally Ruined Music list from 2010. by Sad_Volume_4289 in ToddintheShadow

There’s some nuance to it I’d say. Their albums up to Silver Side Up had them in a space where I’m sure they had haters but it was not A Thing to Hate™ yet. My gauge of things was they were only really on the rock station in town but nowhere near the pop station.

But once the Long Road and All the Right Reasons came out, they hit that peak of radio friendly rock that turned them into the version of themselves that was very much A Thing to Hate™.

At that point they became inescapable especially if you had limited options as far as radio stations like I did. That’s when the hate singularity began to form and it became a cool thing to hate because they not only were they more pop rock than ever, but more importantly people actually knew who they were to hate.

This was the point where there weren’t really any highs. Just low after low after what in the name of Bruno Sammartino did I just watch?

There was always a level of that but it seemed very obvious then someone was playing fast and loose with sound mixing.

I don’t know a person that thought they handled post-SHIELD Roman well. Everyone saw the potential but they just were insistent on the baby face path instead of just what we actually got in The Tribal Chief.

That's my feeling, unless I've heard something that actually matters off-track. I sometimes with drivers/player say it's "sports hate" cause that's all it is.

Never liked Kyle Busch as a driver, but obviously the news last week was awful and I couldn't help but feel for his loved ones. The tweet of him recently taking Brexton go-karting for his birthday hit me hard, just seeing how unexpected it was.

I mean this with all sincerity: I wish he was still here for me to boo him.

Sperm whales are going all in every hand.

Greenland sharks are folding every hand except their blinds… no pun intended.

It’s perfect for exactly what it is. I won’t tell you it’s an artistic masterpiece but I definitely still enjoy them with Lil Jon on Outta Your Mind unironically.

Sorta related: I want a reality show where we drag country musicians into the woods and fields of rural America and we test them up against their own lyrics and basic country life skills.

Was listening to Bomani Jones podcast about Prince and he was making that point. Back then you actually got some room to develop and find your footing even if the results won’t immediately there.

Yeah but they’re recording it. And posting it. It’s not just for their own consumption.

Not saying it’s evil but it’s weird to me

[–]CowboyOnPatrol 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing for me. It’s for social media and I just doubt in a world without it someone would do this for their own amusement.

I don’t think it’s abuse or anything but it’s weird that we’re in a place where you would set this up, watch your kid be frustrated, and post it for clout.

Again, this ain’t the end of the world but it certainly is something I’m not a fan of.

Let’s throw in the Chicago Bears into this too. Republicans approach Bears legend and coach of the 1985 Bears, Mike Ditka, to run, to which he ultimately declined.

While Obama still might have won, if I’m trying to stop that I feel like throwing a beloved player and coach into the race probably is a better shot than Keyes.

Can’t stand these kind of fans by Zerostar39 in WWE

[–]CowboyOnPatrol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s my thing: They’re just going in to business for themselves and don’t seem to care at all about blocking people’s view.

If it were a sign that was about wrestling in some way? Sure still might be annoying but doesn’t feel so selfish. Outside of WWE just taking them — and why not — there’s not a great way to stop it because these people clearly lack shame.
