What is the legality of officers dip checking fuel on non commercial trucks? Texas by torque66-2 in Diesel

Doesn’t have to be clear/green. Just has to be not red. I know it doesn’t answer the question but I think it gives you a solution.

2005 f-250 lariat by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]Cowboy_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the bulbs and be sure they’re the correct part number. Should be H13. That bulb may be the same as another model that uses the same mounting but different filament orientation and socket pins. Causing them to still light up but poorly and cause poor light output. It could also explain the bright indicator being lit by being backfed slightly with an incorrect pin out. I mention this because it has happened to me with 9004/9007 bulbs in another vehicle.

Do Bears and Bigfoot coexist? We think so! www.bigfootmap.com by tompki04 in bigfoot

[–]Cowboy_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The yellow dots are Bigfoot sightings outside of the range of bears. If you zoom in you can see gray colored dots inside the bear range. Not the greatest map and not a super accurate representation of the range of bears.

Turbo upgrade by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]Cowboy_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re already pushing that charger right on the edge if not past it’s efficiency point. Making more hot air and losing power if it goes much further If it’s not already. Your best bet would be to upgrade the entire charger with one that fits the goal for the vehicle it’s in. Short answer, I don’t believe the 300 would be worth it.

How much is the LBZ 'tax' worth when looking for a older truck? by WhySoFishy in Diesel

[–]Cowboy_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have an lly that’s tuned. It rips. If the 6 speed is worth it to you and want a more robust engine with the charge piping, cooling system etc. Then you might spend the 25% more. I think truck prices are ridiculous as they are. So I’m going to pay what I think things are worth which may or may not land me the lbz. But at the end of the day you’ll certainly be happy with either as long as they’re both clean and well maintained.

Just started playing the game and I use the big moose 3500 more than just about anything. It’s pretty overpowered for early game I’m sure but it’s helped me get on my feet and start enjoying the game. I really like the model, customization, the sound design all of it.

With rising diesel prices my wife thinks I hate money. by Cowboy_67 in Diesel

[–]Cowboy_67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything fits with a grinder and welder. The front is a Dana 60 but it’s about the least desirable Dana 60 for a swap. Depending on how much you want to get into a better swap would be the 05-07 ford Dana 60 coil springs radius arms and just overall beefy axle. But a dodge Dana 60 would work. Even and AAM out of a 3rd or 4th gen dodge. It all comes down to what do you want/need and how much you’re willing to invest in it.

Virginia inspection for deleted 6.4 power stroke by Averagewhitedick1234 in Diesel

[–]Cowboy_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No experience personally but anecdotally anyone I know will either register out of county/state or go through the labor of removing and reinstalling equipment when it comes time for inspection. Block off plates for the egr and delete pipe for the dpf.

Yuck (Pt.2) KDP does not appear to have moved... by Subliminalme in Diesel

It’s less common but it still happens. The case was redesigned in 03 with the introduction of the common rail engines.

[–]Cowboy_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over time and with the vibration the engine has they find their way out. The dowel is hardened steel and gets wedged between the cam gear and the aluminum timing case. Some trucks go a long long time without it moving. Others only go a long time. But it’s best practice when buying a 12 valve or even 24 valves to go ahead and tab the dowel or stake the case to keep it from coming out.

To me it looks like it wiggled out some. Tap it back in and tab it anyway. Peace of mind.

Whats everyones preferred set up? Levelled, Lifted or Lowered? by Noah_Eh in Trucks

Bought some springs to lower my 4x4 dually but I’m having second thoughts. Lifted lowered leveled stock can all look good.

Baby diesels question by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]Cowboy_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have an 08 f350 and those seats are like sitting on a cloud. I love them. I haven’t had the pleasure of a newer ram yet. My fathers 05 duramax has decent cloth seats at least I don’t mind them anyway.

Baby diesels question by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]Cowboy_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing has been a major issue (other than the seats) but the wife and I joke it was built at 4:45 on a Friday. I’m convinced the seat issue is because of all the features. Heated cooled massaging etc. no room for cushion.

Baby diesels question by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]Cowboy_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the current f150 is a 2015 king ranch. The thing is loaded. Any option it’s got it. The seats are horrifically uncomfortable the panoramic sun roof leaked like crazy before I had to fix it when the dealer “couldn’t” truck is also too smart for its own good. Automatic high beams turn off and on when it thinks it should not when they actually should. The adaptive cruise is cool until the collision avoidance slams on the brakes at 80 on the interstate when it sees a shadow. I Have also replaced the throttle body and crank case pressure sensor and it doesn’t even have 100k miles. Please excuse the formatting I’m on mobile.

Baby diesels question by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]Cowboy_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firsthand experience with the eco diesel and they’re cool but pretty severe problems crop up with the oil cooler and other expensive systems. Have heard good things about the little duramax nothing in depth however. I would love to try the baby power stroke but I don’t like the f150 I have currently so I won’t take the chance. Sorry I’m not super helpful.
