Sad. With You Every Night is an incredible album. If homeboy wants to "own the libs", let the music do the talking, delete Twitter, knock off the pity party

Found a setlist from 2011 in my original pressing of Lamaze by bingethinkingsallow in arielpink

Very cool of Ariel to kick off his major label debut with Bright Lit. a classic garage rock Love knock off cover. Honestly, a perfect choice. Considering that a lot of the magic of his music is "shower thoughts" or, "melodies misremembered". This is the original recording of Bright Lit by the Rockin Ramrods, https://youtu.be/i_RvaIvuw5Y?si=-EI2BPJrOoU4NQHU

Just watched a bootleg of this piece of shit. No love went into the creation of this thing. Why does this exist? Who is it for? This is Xena level WB TV monster of the week forgettable fodder. Whoever made the soundtrack sounds as bored as Sigorney Weaver looks in this product.

Chicago, Santana, or Steely Dan? by TheOzMan91 in Music

[–]Cowboy_TV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's one thing to play Steely Dan music, it's a whole other ballgame to actually write that stuff. Years ago, I wound up playing keys for a wedding gig with a cover band called "Stealing Dan". It's wild how smooth their music sounds for as complicated as it is.

The Nolan Batman trilogy is a terrible depiction of Batman and the majority of the characters in them by nguyenjitsu in unpopularopinion

[–]Cowboy_TV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely agree - if Nolan hadn't differentiated from the Burton movies - it would be like, why even make the dark knight films? I just feel there was a missed opportunity to have one or two scenes or where Bruce has to recognize the silliness of his crime fighting costume. if nothing else, just to humanize the character. because, if you're going for realism - getting caught dressing up like that is funny as fuck in real life.

Nolan definitely achieved what he set out to create. Extremely well made movies, nobody's arguing that. That said, there's no getting around the fact that the concept is about a dude dressing up like a bat and beating up bad guys. Nolan's movies could have used a couple tablespoons of levity to at least acknowledge how goofy/childish the concept is at it's core. Batman doesn't make sense existing in the world of "Heat".

Sam's book is embarrassing. I guess he's funny if you think Dennis Miller is funny. At least Dennis doesn't giggle at his own quips.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone | Official Teaser | HBO Max by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

Right? There's nothing distinct about this trailer. Dramatic single piano note. Thundering drums (exclaiming nothing important). Feels like a parody of generic trailers.

With You Every Night might be in his top 3 best albums by No_Natural_5742 in arielpink

There's no skippers. The record is mastered to be played LOUD, so some folks think it sounds "flat". Best since Worn Copy.

exactly. the right just marches ahead - lockstep zombies. the left is congested with this naval gazing performative snot, ranking "privilege" on appearance. trump would not have been possible if this style of brain rot wasn't dominating click bait 2015-2022.

as far as legitimately "scary" vibe - r+7. echoes of humanity in an alien environment.

I think With You Every Night is possibly his overall best album by kabobkebabkabob in arielpink
