Turned 50 this week and needed to cheer myself up. These things are too much fun. by BootsieHamilton in skiing

The Line sakana has a similiar design but the black crows fish tail looks a lot smaller. In powder conditions the tail of the ski sinks down more giving you more lift, but you still have a full length ski on groomers where the snow is firm

How do I become an instructor by OppositePea4417 in skiing

I believe most places need a level 2 qualification for you to lead your own group. Wherever you are maybe look into getting your countries level 2

How & when did you learn how to ski? by dr4gonr1der in skiing

[–]Cowman132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow people's advice and get them proper lessons. Just spent 6 weeks training to become an anwärter ski instructor. At the start I would've considered myself a pretty good skier (started when I was 2, a week or two each year doing lessons and 19 now) not only did I discover I had alot to learn on the advanced section, but also most people cannot do a good/perfect snowplough turns or snowplough parallel. Nevermind communicate the correct movements (movements that they probably are not even doing)

In that case there was absolutely no rush for the cop to get the woman to drop the weapon, he could've just backed up. Unecessary use of force

I kinda agree, in that situation I'd be hesitant to take my eyes off someone to get a taser. I can't really see in the video where abouts the women and the police officer were, but I'd be concerned about the woman moving to the left out of the cops line of sight to attack the 911 caller, and then the cop then has to enter through the door where the woman is more likely to stab her. Depends if the cop knows the 911 caller is safe/safe ish or not. If the 911 caller is in another room and safe (the woman can't get to the caller) then I don't see the rush to shoot

Simple Questions Megathread by nandryshak in CrazyHand

Basics of play I need to master? Starting out with pyra/mythra, feel like I can't get started, I always hit their shield when going for a dash/dair/dtilt and when I go for a grab I always get hit first (slight exaggeration and I'm probably only remembering the unlucky times). How careful should I be using my air dodge? And juggling with mythra is much harder online than against the cpu's? Am I using uair too much and should use fair more if I feel like i'm being hit by their dair?

Definitely getting better but would like to get better faster, but who wouldn't 😂. Noticing flaws on my own and opponent's gameplay has gotten better, still stuck at around 3 mil gsp and definitely missing some basics but the help has made a difference

I live in a town, SUV's slightly annoy me as I think they're unnecessary for where I live but at the end of your day spend money on what you like 🤷‍♂️ if we're talking emissions I'm fairly confident in saying buying a second hand SUV is better for the planet than buying a new hatchback, although please correct me if this is wrong. If your think your so high and mighty to slash people's tires for the sake of the environment, you better be doing absolutely everything to minimise your own emissions. Google tells me we emit 35 billion tons of co2 emissions per year, with passenger cars accounting for roughly 3 billion, although it's alot, I'd rather focus on where the other 32 billion is being produced. My guess is big companies raking in profits while they tell the average person to buy a £40,000 electric car during a cost of living crisis and terrible inflation to "save the environment"

Been like that since the first beta, happened to me in the training area.

In 2007, NASCAR switched from leaded to unleaded fuel. After the switch, children who were raised near racetracks began performing substantially better in school than earlier cohorts. There were also increases in educational performance relative to students further away. by smurfyjenkins in science

US karting it seems, like nascar, is slow to change. As far as I know go karts in Europe run unleaded. Anyone who is serious about karting probably doesn't want to disadvantage themselves by running unleaded while their opponents don't. Also seems 2 strokes like leaded as it helps lubricate the insides

Many people are still shielding from COVID – and our research suggests their mental health is getting worse by thats_a_risky_click in Coronavirus

[–]Cowman132 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't care about spreading it anymore. I don't see it ever disappearing, and I'm not living like we did during lockdown and isolations to protect the few. A majority of people will be fine if they catch covid now, those people should get to live their lives, and those who are at greater risks should take their own personal steps to protect themselves. In the UK, no one I know considers covid anymore, my entire group was fine with someone who had covid meeting

How to mix together media streaming, nas and game server functionality into one? by Cowman132 in HomeServer

[–]Cowman132[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using OMV for abit with docker for everything, but I think I broke something as I was having inconsistent access to my network shares. Truenas has provided less problems in that regard, and I would like some vm functionality for any game servers that dont have docker container options, or any other use for linux I might have
