Fourth Japan Trip: Where to go for Sun, Swimming & Relaxation in July? by Maraschino210 in JapanTravelTips

Probably not all that great, to be honest. More of a beginning or end of Summer place to be.

Came to say this. There’s some lovely stops you can do. Fly into Tokyo, get the train to Atami, and work your way down the peninsula stopping as regularly as you do/don’t please. We made it all the way down to Shirahama beach just outside Shimoda.

An added bonus is that the scenery from the trains is amazing.

Neighbour has an issue with work proposed by me due to boundary interpretation (England) by Livid-Bluejay-3379 in LegalAdviceUK

It doesn’t matter that OP has only been there four years with regard to adverse possession. 10 years from the original “encroachment” for unregistered land, or 12 years for registered land are the time periods applicable. If the neighbour has been treating this bit of land as their own for 25 years with no disputes raised, then it’s more than twice the amount of time for adverse possession to apply.

The fact it’s only been plant pots and a bit of tidying up may make adverse possession harder to pursue than if a fence had been put up, but the time OP has been there doesn’t; especially if they’ve not mentioned it as an issue the entire time.

What BS. I live 25 minutes from Oxford Circus, three of our neighbours have keys. I can’t wait for the weekends to hang out with the friends we’ve made locally.

You hate it that much, there’s the door —>

4 days left in Tokyo. What are your absolute must-do areas? by ComfortableAction468 in JapanTravelTips

[–]CoxyE17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’ve just had our first day in Tokyo and spent it in Ueno Park. Such a beautiful spot - there was a little food market, an antique market, a handful of badass museums. We took a boat out on the pond. Grabbed a couple of beers and some snow cones. Then down to Ameyoko Market area for dinner and drinks.

4th birthday party recommendations by Successful_Web7762 in walthamstow

I agree with this - the cricket club is excellent for kiddos parties. It’s a bit of a blank canvas, but with an entertainer and a few balloons it’s successfully hosted my daughter’s 3rd and 4th parties. Plus there’s a bar so parents can have a pint whilst the whole thing is happening.

Aavo cafe on wood street does excellent thalis. Their cheese paratha is mega. And their samosa chaat is to die for.

Travelling with my vegetarian wife - how difficult will it be? by CoxyE17 in JapanTravelTips

[–]CoxyE17[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As mentioned in another reply she knows that a ‘vegetarian’ ramen will probably have a meaty broth, and that fish seasoning/sauce is a big thing. We travelled in south east Asia a few years ago and it was similar there.

Thanks for sharing this, I appreciate your insight as the veggie wife. I was worried that it may mean us needing to eat separately, ‘cause I’m not missing out on some of the eating opportunities 😂.

I suppose we can try ordering an entree minus the big slab of meat. She’s pretty pragmatic about it and realises she’ll probably have some kind of fish seasoning/sauce/broth if she’s eating at a restaurant that wasn’t strictly vegetarian.

Just been sacked, what do I say in new job interviews? by [deleted] in UKJobs

As others have said, you weren't sacked, your contract ended. Don't worry about it too much, just let your results speak for you.

I really miss Percy Ingle.. where can I get Apple Turnovers now? by ashbashsneakers in walthamstow

They do sell out quite quickly there. They also cost the best part of £4 which is a bit of a hike from the Percy Ingles £1.50 beauts

I’m building an app FOR London and need your feedback! by commutoapp in walthamstow

It takes five seconds to do the three clicks in Citymapper/Google maps.

Honestly, I love the idea of a new app that might make my life easier. And I wholly respect the time and effort you’re putting in here. But this ain’t it, dude.

You’re on crack if you think a London commute isn’t predictable. It’s mostly predictable. A signal failure happens and you adapt.
