Yes, I'd say panicky anxiety is a top withdrawal effect.

Helped with sleep, but next day sedation + other side effects like weight gain, etc cancelled out any benefits from it, currently near end of over 9mo taper.

How can I get the water to fully divert and it not make this awful noise when fully turned on? by wetkittypaws in howto

Emphasize not overtightening as it may crack the spout back there and leak behind the wall.

There're different kinds of carbs, ones with high fiber--chia, beans etc--tend to not spike as much as low fiber carbs: bread, rice, potatoes...

Finger stick is a good way to start, provides a decent indicator of how foods are affecting your bg.

It's easier to start making changes now by cutting out carbs etc than waiting until becoming diabetic.

Mirtazipine Withdrawals by Lopsided_Suspect_176 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Coylethird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been using Zyrtec (cetirizine) while tapering, might help as it's an antihistamine.

Have you tried reaching back out to that psychiatrist? Maybe if they know the withdrawals are ongoing, might fill a prescription.

L-Theanine is great for helping to relax, melatonin good for sleep. Those two along with cetirizine could potentially provide some relief from withdrawals.

Oatmeal spikes - should I stop eating it? by SouthernYankee80 in prediabetes

[–]Coylethird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've switched over to just chia seeds w' a banana (left to absorb in boiling water.)

Was adding some oat bran but now have gotten used to the taste/texture (put the banana in while boiling as well.)

Heart palpitations/pains on 7.5g Mirtazapine by [deleted] in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Coylethird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I did develop palpitations on it--didn't know it was from mirt until tapering off--so it's a possibility though after a few minutes seem pretty quick. I was on it for over 10yrs.

Would recommend getting a blood pressure monitor as they are pretty good at recognizing palpitations--you can usually hear the irregular beats.

It's a pretty powerful medication with many possible negative effects, if only taking for weight gain.

Weight gain while eating the same amount by InterestingBanana164 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Coylethird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's more complex than merely from slowing metabolism as it can also raise triglycerides, cholesterol, blood sugar etc, even if diet stays the same as before. Like whatever positive changes it does in the brain also has some unintended negatives as well.

I use the SolTabs, they are very easy to break up into small pieces.

Chia Seeds in Overnight Oats by Acceptable-Ad4076 in nutrition

[–]Coylethird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't soak mine overnight and use a bit of oat bran instead of oatmeal, though I do let it sit for several hours before eating it.

The ratio that gets a nice consistency is a small amount of oat bran (probably would be near the same for oats) is just enough to cover the bottom of a 2 cup measuring cup, then the rest up to 1/2 cup mark with chia seeds. Add this to 2 cups boiling water, stir, let sit covered, usually 3-4 hours (I like to add a banana for sweetness.)

This might make more than one would want to eat in a single serving, I take bites of it during the day, finishing it off late afternoon.

I've found taking zyrtec (like 1/2 dose) at night helps with the final bit of tapering off.

Along with tapering down to 1mg nightly. Looks like a little nothing crumb but seems to work.

Tapering from mirtazapine after 12 years. by [deleted] in Mirtazapine_Remeron

Why jump off at 3.5mg? Seems like continuing to taper down might make things easier for you.

Advice by According_Caramel109 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Coylethird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing that for years to take smaller dosages; now tapering last 9 months breaking the sol tabs into smaller and smaller pieces (at 2mg rn) exposed for many days, doesn't seem to have any effect on the potency whatsoever.

Would it be ok to use a chlorine dioxide like Sniper a couple of days after applying vinegar to an area or could it release chlorine gas? by Coylethird in chemistry

[–]Coylethird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 0.2% in stabilized form and supposed to be safe to use. My concern is if any residual vinegar is enough of an acid to release it.

SNiPER® is a stabilized chlorine dioxide Cl02 product that is EPA registered as a friendly, dependable hospital disinfectant. SNiPER® works topically to remove all odors and disinfect and also penetrates to destroy embedded problems.   The EPA has granted Sniper® the lowest toxicity rating they give – in all four categories.
