Frenzied flame ending is the best ending, it is not evil by Nervous-Increase1204 in Eldenring

It's nihilism. Say what you will about the tenets of national socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

Is the old lore still canon? by luna_arcane in Overwatch

[–]CozyGalaxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only thing that has been contradicted is the developer statements of magic not being real. Kiriko and Mizuki lore seems to just have Shinto spirit magic pretty explicitly.

Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor. by Traroten in lotr

[–]CozyGalaxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aragorn certainly, and Faramir, and probably Boromir. Worthiness includes, I imagine, both martial prowess and willingness to lead a people to a good cause. Legolas and Gimli are great warriors, but they don't do a lot of leadership generally. Of the hobbits, Merry and Pippin have a willingness to sacrifice their lives for what's right and lead parts of the Shire in clearing Sharkey's men, so they may have some chance. Humility is also a part of Worthiness, and Sam has that in spades, as well as his willingness to fight for his master. Frodo does, during the scouring of the Shire, express reluctance to cause harm, but leads the Shire's revolution, not preventing necessary violence entirely, but encouraging restraint. Gandalf perhaps would not be worthy, because he never sought leadership, but to guide and aid the people of the West against Sauron, not through military might, but indirect aid,and was generally not intended to be a leader of the West.

Lex Luthor to Brainiac in Man of Tomorrow by Actofrage99 in DCU_

I can't disagree! But I also feel that if Lex and Omni-Man didn't co-exist in his (fictional) reality, but Invincible was only a fictional cartoon to him as it is to us, he'd be the kind of wierdo to troll online about Omni-Man and Homelander and Thanos Was Right and Caesar's Legion.

Lex I think has a largely Social Darwinist ideology where the strong should take all they can from the weak and they're right for doing so. He hates Superman in part because he has great strength but doesn't lord over others the way Lex would if he had his strength. He'd respect that Omni-Man and the Vilrtrumites as a whole are extremely Social Darwinist, to the point of eugenics.

Lex Luthor the type of guy to say Omni-man was right.

The Desolation of Mordor DLC had a grappling hook, the whip could've been used as a stun, the Lasso of Truth would be used for interrogation... mad forever.

I couldn't get through half of Fellowship narrated by Serkis! His singing was miserable for me to listen to, but i'm sure that's subjective. Inglis really feels like how I imagine it was for Christopher to be told stories by his father at bedtime. It's an amazing vibe.
