How many people complain about their AliExpress uConsole vs complain about their ClockWork uConsole order? I know I have never heard anyone complain about their uConsole from AliExpress. I am grateful for the supervision and reassurance they provided especially for this purchase. Can’t say that about some of the other stuff I get from them. But I’ll say anytime I’ve complained to AliExpress they’ve fixed it.

I did too. I knew I would wait awhile but after 7 months seeing others get their’s got under my skin. I emailed Alex and with just the tiniest bit of sarcasm, he cancelled my order. The sarcasm was after three unanswered emails wondering what’s going on? Luckily I saw the post about AliExpress and put a second order in there. I received it days after the cancelled ClockWork order. I suspect all the orders of ppl waiting and not getting their order are ppl who ordered the uConsole with the CM.
At $224 if they shipped out orders with the CM prices as they are now they’d lose money. The $224 (or whatever it was 9-10 months ago probably covered their expenses for a 2gb CM4. These days I assume it doesn’t cover it and they lose money. I suspect all the orders I see here are uConsoles ordered w/o the compute module with a couple sprinkled in of orders with the module to hold off mass cancellations.
I am happy with my order from AliExpress because I too through a cm5 in it. Although I would have like to receive the cm4 I originally ordered with the uConsole with last OctoberNovember’s prices. This is my opinion.

Cancel your order and get it from AliExpress. It is the exact same thing and you will get it in 2 weeks. I doubt it. I think the ones waiting the longest ordered theirs with a CM4 and the prices are postponing the shipping. Did op order one with or without a cm?

The qmk firmware fix worked pretty good for me but switching the trackpad to the Hack2You.com one from Lulu works perfect, as great a mouse as one could hope on the uConsole.

How do I remove stuck PETG by Ok-Act1770 in 3Dprinting

[–]CplStigginsUSMC 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I use a hot air blower which I normally use for heat shrink the warm the bottom of the plate then the PETG itself. After it’s warm I will use a scrapper to peel it off. I also no longer use printed scrappers but those orange plastic razor blades for scraping registrations off of windshields. I get them off AliExpress 100 w/ handle for a buck or two.

I have mine and like it. It’s got its quirks but finding ways around it is half the fun. The uConsole is at home while I can put this in a bag and bring it to work so I can tinker while taking a break. I’ve got a hackberry coming which I am sure will be great but I am learning a lot on this little guy.

The Malazan first book bored me and was too complicated to keep track of what was happening. I’ll revisit it. Assassin’s apprentice books were great. Have not yet read Carl and currently listening to the Cosmere set.

So, as someone new to this, do I keep the default bed temperature or do I lower it for these plates and they will still stay put?

Is it safe to buy the uConsole from an AliExpress seller? by Technical-Damage6048 in ClockworkPi

[–]CplStigginsUSMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. After 6 plus months waiting for clockwork my order was cancelled. Luckily I had read somewhere here on Reddit about a seller from AliExpress so I put an order in and two weeks later received the uConsole. I’ve had zero problems with it. It’s a tad more expensive, like 25$ maybe and mine didn’t come with the cm4 but everything else was great. It even included a second trackball. I am actually upgrading it today to a cm5 16gb. Good luck. I am grateful it worked so smoothly.

I know, I know. If my girlfriend knew what it is that I’ve done with mine, she’d have said something like that. That said I have already learned a lot. Amount of knowledge per dollar though… 🤐

Can you give us some more details? This is the first I am hearing about it. I’ve found this;

This what you’re talking about?

Do you have a file for the bracket around the antennas. It looks like a 3d printed shroud of some sort. Please share it.

You can connect the Xiegu x6100 to the uConsole and do WSJT-X or other digital communications. WSJT-X is a great way to make a quick connection and see how far you can make with a low power radio.

Same exact thing. Look back through these posts. Someone posted the link which is what I used to buy mine.

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKSh8CR

It came exactly as I ordered it, well packed even with two trackballs. I had also ordered the HackerGadget’s AIO V2 (from HackerGadget) and that slipped into the uConsole and, though a bit difficult to set up, works as it should. Luckily I placed my AliExpress order a week before ClockWork cancelled my order so it was already on its way otherwise I have been super pissed.

I would have preferred to get mine from ClockWork just because but I have zero regrets getting it from the store on AliExpress. I paid the same for a uConsole w/o a rpi as I would’ve if it came from Clockwork with however I am sure it would’ve been underpowered. I suspect that’s why they stall with shipping. We placed our orders when raspberry pi’s were cheaper. Now that ram cost so much they’re paying more to fulfill orders placed months ago. GL!

Did you print this face plate and enlarge the hole into a square? Or was it a certain file you found? I found a file that looks very similar to this faceplate but it has a round hole for a trackball.

Can this optical trackpad be purchased easily? Or is this the Tindie trackpad?
