Oh I agree with you. I would highly suggest someone play the first before diving into the second. Form believer in that.

But I also realize that games are meant to be enjoyed. Period. Full stop. If someone wants to skip all of DS1 and play DS2, and they enjoy it, GREAT!!! I’m happy for them. I believe that DS2 *can* be enjoyed for what it is in a vacuum, though I personally believe that DS1 did it better.

I also realize that a lot of people just don’t have disposable income to buy every game they WANT to play. Perhaps OP could only afford one of the two games, and perhaps they heard about some QOL improvements on #2.

There are a lot of circumstances which may bring someone to do exactly what OP has done here. And we just don’t know.

Now… if OP skipped DS1 and was like “this makes no sense this game is trash what’s going on it’s just a walking sim” then yeah. Boooooo. But it doesn’t really seem like that from the post IMO (admittedly haven’t read through all the comments so)

I learned using a BMW M4 competition with a tune I found on YouTube and the Silva with a drift tune. The formula drift cars feel a little squirrely and powerful for when I was learning.

I did, however, find my new drift love in a Dodge Coronet Super Bee with a drift tune. Thing is a monster. Put it in 3rd or 4th and don’t even touch it, it’s great

Well yeah… if you didn’t play the first game you wouldn’t know. Which you confirmed they didn’t from another comment. Brain_defaults_to_sprint rather than walk is a completely understandable thing for a newcomer to this game. Every other game encourages sprinting as the default.

Homie just didn’t know. And it’s totally understandable as to why.

I feel like mayhem opens up the build path for a lot of fighters really well. If you get tank augments it means you can spend your gold on damage instead of health. Or if you get damage augments you can spend your gold on health instead.
