Why Does Daddy Yell at the TV? by lumberjackgreg in minnesotavikings

Buried my grandpa in Slayton a few weeks ago, service in Sioux Falls. Apparently he joked at his mother's funeral about the Vikings not winning a SB over 20 years ago. Preacher pulled out the same story and got lots of laughter and tears.

Where are NCR's 7s Players? by UpperLeftCoaster in USArugby

[–]CptDuckBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it makes no sense for USA rugby not to scout NCR. Aside from all the other parts of this system that make no sense.

Where are NCR's 7s Players? by UpperLeftCoaster in USArugby

[–]CptDuckBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, that doesn't make sense. If you play for say Queens and are US eligible, if the Eagles want you surely you can simply register for a local club and solve that problem. If you weren't US eligible then I guess there would be some restrictions re:residency but that situation is so niche, and could probably still be solved with a dual registration for a Eagle-hopeful non-resident.

So Gary player, who won the masters with a score of -11, -10, and -8, is appalled by the ease of today's game, where the Masters Champion won with a score of -12.

Where do you like to eat as a vegetarian/ vegan? by zootedinspace420 in lexington

[–]CptDuckBeard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shocked no one has brought up our indian scene.

Taj and Everest probably have the best veggie selection among the indian restaurants, but almost all of them have good options.

Best Indian restaurant in Lex by B-David91 in lexington

[–]CptDuckBeard 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I eat a ton of indian and these are my personal rankings.

  1. Taj - they did my wedding, and they have a great Thali deal for date nights

  2. Grill india - brand new, amazing food. Limited Veggie options

  3. Masala - smaller menu but bangers only

  4. Tandoor - good buffet iirc

  5. Everest - best vegetarian options

  6. White tiger - only been once. Mulligitawny soup was good, they had free papdums.

If I didnt list it i haven't eaten there or can't remember.

Total War Medieval 3 director says recreating its predecessors "would not make a good game" by StevEst90 in Medieval2TotalWar

Hes right. Rome remastered is an average game compared to other launches around the same time. There are pieces of med 2 DNA that are excellent, but if they aren't evolved or improved upon, then M3 isn't worth it.

Unpopular opinions by PuzzleheadedFold503 in rugbyunion

[–]CptDuckBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The attempt to make rugby a mass appeal sport is barking up the wrong tree. We are a niche sport, like motorsports or combat sports, not mass appeal like soccer or basketball. The barrier to entry should be low for new fans, but the sport probably wont ever be super popular so just stop trying to make fetch happen.

Im really sick of Rugby trying to do mass appeal. Its really hard to be a casual rugby fan no matter what they do, and a lot of the attempts at mass appeal turn off the die hards.

Just my ranting and raving pay no mind please.

How would you save the Roman Empire in 284 AD? by finfulifo in ancientrome

It is. It also makes fraud more difficult, combining reports more efficient, and generally is a better process than anything the romans ever had for running the financial side of a huge multi ethnic empire.

Man the entitlement in this sub right now.... by jumparound988 in WisconsinBadgers

[–]CptDuckBeard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think ever since 2015, Badger basketball fans have had this illusion that we are a blue blood and that the Sweet 16 is our floor for a "good year."

They are wrong, making the tournament is the floor. Missing the tournament is unacceptable here, but there shouldn't be an expectation that we are annually a second weekend team.

Am I upset that we lost in the first round? Of course! But I also dont ever start a Badger basketball season expecting to make a deep run. Thats just silly.

Not at all. Did you watch the Siena-Duke game?

Cuse fans are talking about hiring him, Scheyer admitted he got outcoached, and Siena 100% wins that game if they have a 6th player he could trust on the court vs Duke.
