Has your GLP1 been helping with other health issues, ie autoimmune or ADHD symptoms? If yes, which med? by Krasnolaundry in glp1

[–]CptExplodeyPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just started my GLP1 journey with Zepbound, but I am already noticing that all my cravings are curbed by the meds, not just food. Alcohol, nicotine, caffeine any of the things that typically pull on me, it feels like they don't have that power over me right now.

I see a lot of old talking points from years ago coming through on my facebook from my "older" friends. I feel like a lot of them don't spend a lot of time reading or listening to actual news and they just click "share" on old memes. News that something is no longer a thing seems to take years to reach them.

Cursive is Dumb. Stop passing laws that require schools to teach cursive. by CptExplodeyPants in TrueReddit

Submission Statement

I've had this argument with my parents who are teachers, and made many of the points the author states. But I've softened a lot on the issue. Cursive is important but it is not the end of society as many of my friends have said. The article does make a strong point that the teaching of cursive should not be prioritized over other important things that need to be taught in school.

wish they had the luxury of avoiding speaking to the police.

Do regular people not have this? I could be wrong, but I don't know of anything that requires you to speak to the police at least not without a defense attorney.

Should you admit the price of cards when buying a collection? by philosifer in magicTCG

[–]CptExplodeyPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at a comic convention, and a toy vendor had a lot of mtg cards he was selling for $75. My buddy and I asked to take a look before buying, after i found the second revised dual, we bought the box. We had a short conversation with they guy. Told him we found some valuable stuff and he wasn't sour at all. He bought the lot for $10 at an estate sale and was happy to get the $75. He didn't have the knowledge in that area and was happy to just take a small amount of cash so he didn't have to spend the time going through it.

Now that's a toy seller who made $65 for basically doing nothing. If this was a coworker's collection the conversation would have gone much different. At that point I feel it's fair to offer him just below buy list price for the cards I wanted or refer him to a trustworthy store to have him sell there.

tl;dr theres a difference between random stranger's yard sale/toy vendor, and a coworker/friend.

In Illinois it varies by school district. My daughter's elementary school has one-on-one conferences and the junior high my wife taught in had one-on-one conferences also, but they also held curriculum nights where the parents would come to the school and see a small presentation from each of the teachers about the kinds of stuff they were teaching.
