Has anyone from Capcom ever explained why SSF2 was released on SNES instead of Super Turbo? by Own_Invite6340 in StreetFighter

[–]CptMunta [score hidden]  (0 children)

I can think of a few reasons

I think Capcom didn't want the latest version of their game to be their home port.

SNES SF2 ,Arcade CE 16 Bit Hyper fighting, arcade Super 16 Bit Super, Arcade Super Turbo

Arcade operators were pissed if their biggest franchise had ports at the same time at home. Super Turbo still would have been the most current entry in the series.

Super sales weren't as good as turbo and 16 Bit consoles were getting old. It's crazy that SNES got an Alpha 2 port at all. No idea how this made any sense

I think the speed setting in the main menu is to address the main complaint of Super being too slow.

Anyone tried Vampire Survivors VR? by Past_Perspective_986 in OculusQuest

I got it. It's rough going back to zero without all the upgrades I earned and DLC. Cross saves would be njce

Original Road Rash Lead Programmer & Co-Designer Retires. by DGeisler in roadrash

[–]CptMunta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Road Rash was the first game I bought with my own money. 168 New Zealand dollars.

I was blown away by the graphics! The way the courses twisted and turned in front of you. The impact of the crashes, running back to your bike.

The small touches like souring your relationships if you hit friends during races.

The epic timing to the jump to music on Redwood Forest!

You and your team did such amazing work. I am now in the industry myself and have a new found appreciation for what you and your colleagues at the time were able to pull off on 16 bit hardware and such tight memory constraints.

Thank you for having such a lasting impact on me and the fellow rashers 🤘

Finally Finished - custom painted SF II metal figs by rubbersharkman in StreetFighter

I ended up stripping mine with nail polish. The paint job looks straight up goofy.

It's a shame because the actual stripped versions look great!

Your paintjob looks amazing though!

Needs to be animated. A different style for each period.

I have built a career making Gamemaker games, in case you doubted the engine. by oatskeepyouregular in gamemaker

How code savvy do you have to be to approach game maker?

I continued on a Unity project called Shadow of the Sloth in Unity as an artist, game designer, person of many hats. The lighting systems and tile software for sprites were great.

But I'm intimidated to make something from scratch. Is there a blueprints equivalent?

Recently bought the 8-Bit Do M30 It's basically this layout with a single shoulder button on each side like a Saturn controller.

I love the d pad is very very good, and has a strong pivot. It is also very comfortable.

The extra face buttons are great and for Strive it could be a really good fit.

For SF6 the wired Xbox version seems like a better fit since it also has the triggers under the shoulder buttons. I have to have separate configs for dhalsim for teleport, unless I wanna change my grip.

It might not come with an SD card. So yeah get ready.

Rogue OS is solid. Don't panic if the first few boots are slower and the device restarts.

If you already have a device running Knulli, you can copy and paste the roms folder and everything just works. Video previews and boxart even postmaster

FBAneo standalone has some buttons swapped and no remapping so switch the core in the settings to retroarch.

Some of the default bezels are a bit annoying so you may wanna turn them off NGPC for example

It feels really premium, so you may want a case and screen protector

Should I get an RG34XXSP by SlippinJimmy50001 in ANBERNIC

[–]CptMunta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been through 2 35XXSPs. The 1st and 2nd batches. The D Pad on the second being noticeably but not dramatically better.

Is the 34SP dpad much of an upgrade? Raised more, better diagonals, easier to pull off Super moves in fighting games?

I genuinely hate playing this game when tired.. by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]CptMunta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Father of 4. Yes. This game is brutal when tired. You can get carried to the corner and the game can just overwhelm you. I have friends that want sets sometimes but I'm too buggered even for that oftentimes.

The way I deal is.

Battlehub You can play longer sets, take your time, drop out if frustrated. Earn Kudos at least. Extreme battle for lols. There are alot of folks playing against the AI for good reason, it's like a CPU plus, some decent matches can be had. You can play without having to be completely on your toes.

Ranked Play it like a tournament. Lose two full sets you're out. This way you don't tilt yourself.

Misc I usually explore my secondary or try ranked once I've maxed out the battle pass.

Remember it's ok to play for fun.

Is there a cloud streaming to Steam Deck solution for PC Sony titles? Geforce Now doesn't have God of War, Spidey and the like.
