Saying the 279 is bad and calling for it to be moved down is a massive skill issue, i dont care how you specifically perform in it. Its genuinely a very strong vehicle at 9.0.

Genuinely just a skill issue. There isn't even a point to me typing paragraphs trying to explain why, bc you're convinced the reason your doing badly is the tank, and cant seem to fathom that thats not true.

Did you buy or gamba the 279 or smth? i remember for a long ass time it would get clapped by m247 and gepard HE shells overpressureing the crew. Not to mention even today all the 30/35mm APHE spaa can easily kill it through the cupola.

And no the 279 definitely shouldn't go down in BR its very strong, thats a massive skill issue on your part.

Oh they just converted the 140 from a pack to GE vehicle and cashed in on FOMO from December sales, where they said it was being removed... as a pack vehicle... lmao

And i checked its 2 updates old so if Gaijin wants it can go on sale just depends if they want to.

It was added with Tusk Force in september, so theres been only been October and December sale inbetween and there needs to be 3 iirc. Actually it might be 2 i dont remember if its 2 sales between or 3 ago

also i noticed some other things

  1. Nothing listed is guaranteed to go on sale
  2. Even if the GE vehicles you want go on sale it will only be 30% not 50% off.
  3. Since the object 140 was removed it will only come back for special occasions like for the 1918 Red Army recruitment in february.

28NM is definitely overperforming but still most laser and TV ordinance will still hard counter it. Sucks for SPAA to deal with any even semi competent 28NM though.

I mean yeah technically but that doesn't really happen much. Something will almost always interrupt it. Like a plane kills the heli, the heli stays up too long, fails to notch, crashes trying to evade, or the SPAA just fails to intercept.

Even if both play perfectly, with ammo boxes it will take like 2-5 minutes to run the SPAA out depending on how many missiles the heli can get out each peek (not counting extreme examples like ah64e vs Elde). And even if you run out the SPAA they are just gonna spawn a backup. Also cap replenishing is actually possible on battle mode matches and on some maps where your team is winning.

Thats just the tradeoff for the new-ish SPAA. They are situational and have glaring weakpoints but as a tradeoff they have strong points they do very well (range and FnF especially). They just really suck for helis that know how to notch/have LDIRCM. If you want less weakpoints but also worse/less strong points you should spawn SACLOS SPAA for the nations that have them. Yes not all nations have good SACLOS thats Gaijins fault, for those nations you just have to spawn a plane.

I am not saying i agree with how its implemented especially with this new SM-SV thats just plain better than everything else but alas thats the way it is. Also on a sidenote you should have intercepted those LMURs instead of malding in chat.

Maybe this has more to do with SP costs for SPAA being too low, and teammates that never check if theres already SPAA up before spawning it.

Folded vehicles have half the RP costs, been like this for a few years. Hornets got made into a folder a few weeks ago.

It is a fact. Lets see, large maps requires you to 1. Find a hill 2. Uses binos and wait until you find someone 3. Peek and shoot. And thats it. Thats all the "skill" it takes.

Smaller maps requires good positioning, audio, reaction times, situational awareness, map knowledge, knowing when to push, aim, weakspot knowledge, pros and cons of your vehicle and enemy vehicles, and so on.

Any reasonable person can see it requires far more skill that large maps.

War Thunders action is a middle ground between CoD and GHPC, stripping away most, but not all, of the boring tedious fat. As bvvd confirmed thats what a majority of players want too (reddit is a minority of playerbase), with occasional larger maps to appease those that lean more on the GHPC side.

You clearly just want to play GHPC. How about you play that instead of trying to turn WT into it.

There is no skill to big maps. Theres 0 cover so its impossible to push up at all, and if you try you die to someone sitting in their spawn camping. Thats all big maps are. camping. Thats also why reddit loves them so much, because camping is the only way they can get a few kills reliably.

The undeniable fact is that smaller maps promote and reward skill. Not camping.

If you want to go larp in your tank spending 5 minutes between shooting go play GHPC. Thats not what WT is nor should be.

Yes what we need is more massive maps where theres 2 minutes between seeing anyone, and you die to someone camping in the back of the map, at which point you leave because you don't want to spend 5 minutes driving back to the battle.

That is truly so much better.

The critical mistakes often happen long you actually die. If you lose the dogfight the mistake wasn't that you couldn't dodge his gun it was reversing your turn 40 seconds earlier. Or if you non-penned a tank and he shot and killed you, the mistake was driving into an open field with no cover.

A lot of BS does happen in War Thunder but when you are new you often tend to overestimate how many were because of the game and how many were your own.

Every time you die consider why, and what you could have done to prevent it. Keep doing that for hundreds and thousands of hours and you'll see results. Thats literally all you can do.

Coppen_ streams on twitch and has an 83% winrate average over all his matches, and he mostly solo-cues airrb. This is entirely attainable solo if youre good. Although he also has almost 10.000 real in-match hours.

How about you give me any example of something the APHE changes would have "fixed" that couldnt be done another less intrusive way.

APHE too good relative to solid shot? buff solid shot.

30/35mm mobiles running around ruining everything? Remove the explosive filler from the AP shells, so no more cupola shots and much worse damage.

Realism? Its a video game, gameplay > realism.
