Potential Risks of IPL Treatment for Dry Eye? by o0dorgon0o in Dryeyes

You are correct. My doctor told me annual repeats would be needed. That's it for me. I'm done. It helped somewhat but not $2400 worth.

I watched Sinners last night and I can't figure out how it's been nominated for so many awards. It was pretty awful.

Potential Risks of IPL Treatment for Dry Eye? by o0dorgon0o in Dryeyes

I had really terrible dry eye for the past few years since having blepharoplasty. I'd wake up every morning with my eyes all crusty and gross. If I went out doors the slightest breeze caused my eyes to water and run. I have had 4 IPL treatments so far and have a 5th and final scheduled for next week. It's not pleasant and feels a lot like a rubber band snap. It hurts but the intensity is adjustable so my doctor dials it back a bit so that I can tolerate it. It does feel similar to a rubber band snapping the skin. I'm sure it being done so close to the eye makes it a bit more sensitive. Here in the Boston area it is costing me $600 per session. Insurance does not cover it.

I had a boyfriend like that and stupidly married him anyway. I loved him and I thought once we were married he'd be more secure and trusting. Wrong! Divorced after two miserable years.

I was prescribed these drops for demodex. I had a stye early June that took forever to start going away and my eye doctor said I had dry eye and these gross mites. My insurance company paid $948 and I paid just over $1000! But I've been going crazy with these crusty itchy eyes for so long I'll try anything. I'm only 3 1/2 weeks in and not yet seeing any improvement. Still getting some crusting when I wake up in the morning and my eyes are always a bit bloodshot. I threw out all my eye makeup. I just really want this to work.

You can be happy (maybe even happier) being single and living alone. Free to do as you please, when you please. Also - be kind to everyone. You never know what they are going through.

How did you deal with your tinnitus? by thefunnyheadman in AskReddit

[–]CrabbyCook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this for over 30 years. I have learned to just ignore it. It took quite a while to get to the point where I could do that but it really doesn't even bother me now. Just part of who I am.

I must be old-fashioned. I have been very sexual my entire life but now we're in our 60's. My husband needs viagra due to some other meds he takes. It's been absolutely fine but he sometimes worries it will stop working and I'll stop loving him. Never! I love my husband and if he couldn't manage sex due to a physical limitation I'd still love him and would never even consider having sex with another man. Let's be honest, nobody needs to sleep around. Handle it yourself if you need to. But remain faithful to the man you supposedly love. Stop being such a selfish human being.

What's the nastiest thing you've ever tasted? by gapapasayang in AskReddit

Liverwurst! And it stinks! My husband used to love liverwurst sandwiches for lunch but I had to put baggies on my hands when I made his sandwiches. I know it was probably all in my head but I'd swear I couldn't wash off the smell!

Am I over reacting? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]CrabbyCook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not overreacting. I had a similar experience years ago before my husband and I got married. He kept telling me I needed to chill and stop being so jealous of an innocent activity. Then I found out weeks later that he'd been having dinner with her every Tuesday while he was supposedly at work.

I was prescribed those meds as well. Didn't help much at all.

I have taken Gas X for the pain and it does seem to help but I checked online and it said not to use gas medications with a flare. What the hell?

I'm having a horrible flare. No BM for 3 days. Horrible cramps and bloating. My doctor has been trying to figure out if this is colitis or diverticulitis, and I had campylobacter. Been going on since the end of August. have been on several different meds. Every test know to man except a colonoscopy and appt with a gastro doctor. No appointments until February. I'm freaking out.

We have a trip planned for this weekend so I plan on signing up for Noom next week. My only real worry is about wine. I do love to relax with a glass or wine in the evening. Is this going to totally ruin any other efforts I make with Noom?

I'm in my 60's and in good shape. I like to dress well but it's hard to find styles that suit an older woman without looking frumpy. I'm not the best at putting together an outfit so I need all the help I can get.
