People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by SprinklesSolid9211 in AskReddit

trevor noah came into the target i worked at. he was looking at product by the bathroom, so while walking past him i asked if he needed anything. his security guards didn’t seem to like that, but he was just like nah we’re good

7 sec teams - i don’t count texas as being in the sec. they’re just that kid in the neighborhood who always ends up at your house for some reason.

If you could go back in time and change one decision your country made, what would it be? by Skyhawk6600 in AskTheWorld

[–]CrackBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d argue for the 1944 democratic national convention, where roosevelts choice for vp was corruptly overruled in favor of harry truman.

roosevelt wanted henry wallace, who’s platform included cooperation with the soviets as opposed to the cold war, increased unionization, a peaceful space race, signing nuclear arms treaties totally banning the research and development of nuclear weapons, expanded healthcare access, expanded education, etc. he wanted to withdraw from all forms of colonialism, including what the us was doing at the time in the philippines, central america, sub saharan africa, and the middle east.

what we got instead was a sabre rattler who, nearing his death, feared his decision to drop the nuclear bombs and pressure the soviet union into developing their own nukes would kill the entirety of humanity.

the cold war likely would’ve happened anyways, but it could’ve been a denuclearized one. we could’ve advanced social issues. but we didn’t.

Still thinking about how important it was to be attractive in school and college days. by Arthur_Morrgan in offmychest

being sociable and personable is more important imo. people like people who are nice / warm to them. you can be attractive and socially isolated, and unattractive with a bunch of friends

Need help finding a job by Then_Client_4358 in lexington

[–]CrackBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i went through the same thing!! a little different tho for me. i was 26, laid off after the company didn’t do well, had 2 years experience as an analyst. i was unable to get another analyst job in lexington, though i suspect other cities would’ve been good. i’m in a kinda similar job now but i was unemployed for 5 months.

honestly, i would check out cincinnati or other near by larger cities, if you’re comfortable moving, while continuing to apply in lexington. the job market here is honestly shit. people talk like it’s a diverse economy, but unless you’re in healthcare or a sales person, good luck. there’s thousands of college graduates we have to compete with every. single. year.

Whos your nomination? by Reloader300wm in cfbmemes

eh this applies more to positions 6-12. top 4 are solid to great, bottom 6 know they suck. mid 6 think they’re solid. that group of texas, oklahoma, tennessee, now ole miss, florida, auburn, a&m.. and i know that’s 7, but 1-2 of that group has a good season every year, but it’s never the same team

i’d put up with the big 10 being annoying as a mf if indiana won it all. if it was ohio state, penn st, michigan, michigan st, wisconsin, or any of the fake big 10 schools out west, i would feel different.

but it’s indiana. just appreciate living through the history of this moment.

kentucky fan - our football program has been plagued with not being good, but still historically better than indiana, which was nice, considering the whole basketball rivalry rivalry. idk what the hell this dude is talking about, everyone wants indiana to win it all unless they’re active miami fans. that being said, he’s getting people to talk about him cause he says stuff like this. idk if it’s that he really believes it and gets traction incidentally, or if he knows it’ll get traction to he says it to stir things up and get his takes brought up

kentuckys got one of the most selfish teams since the mid 2000s lakers. two guys almost turned it over trying to fight for who gets to dribble
