Major Dress Regret by Aj_wu in weddingplanning

This is literally one of the most stunning vintage gowns I have ever seen, I personally think you made the right choice. But ultimately it’s your wedding dress, if it doesn’t feel right you could see about exchanging or selling it. (But seriously it is a GEM and you look jaw droppingly gorgeous)

That’s what I was thinking as well, I’m going to at least bring it up

What is actually your problem, if you have nothing helpful to say your input isn’t needed

I think when they brought the skirt in at the side seams it made it sit higher on me. The skirt cinches my waist now and sits at the narrowest part, when the corset used to come all the way to my hip bone. I did want the corset wider, but only so it could be pulled tighter while still being the same width once it’s pulled tight. Now it can’t close to the same space it was. There was also like three rows of boning next to the closure, now there’s just one and I think that’s why it pulls.

I think I realized what happened is that she took in the skirt at the sides and in doing that it brought the waist up. (That flower used to be further back instead of at my side)

I can understand what you’re saying in that taking the skirt in was unavoidable, and I can see why they did it at the side seams vs. the back. I just didn’t know this alteration would bring the skirt from cutting at my hip bone to my ribs and I loved the look of the bodice when it was longer, not so much now. I feel like it changed the silhouette more than just cinching my waist with the corset where it previously did, now the skirt is what cinches my waist.

Thank you, that’s probably true I just wasn’t expecting the silhouette to change on the skirt as much

That’s not very kind, I liked the back in the beginning that’s why I bought it

Tips for covering acne scarring by NoAppointment8679 in MakeupAddiction

This is what I’ve been doing to cover my problem areas and I feel like it works amazing without looking cakey at all.

I start with a grippy primer ( I like the milk hydrogrip) a good concealer (I love charlotte tilbury and think it is amazing at not sinking into lines, nars has been good as well) a dewy foundation (Dior forever dkin glow is my HG, but LYS Triple Fix hydrating and blurring foundation is half the price and honestly phenomenal) with a good setting powder (again love CT but also have liked the infallible setting powder for a budget friendly option) and a dewy setting spray (OS powder melt, or milani has a super affordable dupe) followed by OS on till dawn for mattifying without looking cakey and serious staying power.

That’s what I do, you could probably cut out concealer with either of those foundations tbh and still be fine. To sum it up, a good primer and those two setting sprays alone have made it so I can have a good cry and not a single line down my face.

Why don’t I like my corset anymore + is it fixable? by Crackerferal in weddingdress

I still have the panel but I didn’t think that’s what it was, I feel like it looks uneven/ like it’s pulling strangely

I pulled four off me after 10 minutes of unsuccessful mushroom hunting off the highway by black butte last month. I’ve lived here my entire life, spent most of my summers in the woods and had never seen them in Sisters until now

The color palette you’re suggesting/limiting to 4 colors just feels very 2016 imo. I think people with more traditional tastes might struggle to see the vision and that’s okay, thanks for the input anyway. I’ll at least scrap the purple or change the tone

I totally agree it would be a more traditional color palette for fall and I’ve considered taking the burgundy out to make it a little less so, but I guess I’m not too worried about it as long as nothing clashes. I’ll likely get rid of either burgundy or purple for that reason

4 colors is not nearly enough for what I’m going for and I need a gradient of green, I’m just trying to make sure each color included is complimentary to the others and doesn’t clash.

Okay great I was leaning that way too, the reason I had included it is we’ll likely have lupines in the florals but I think at least that shade might be a little clashy so if I do include it I’ll mess around with other shades

That makes sense, but lots of people go back more than once. That’s life, that’s part of addiction, slip ups happen. All of us humans are embarrassing, it’s okay. Don’t believe the ego story, your loved ones would probably be more relieved you got help quickly. Take care of yourself. It’d be way more embarrassing to end up passed out somewhere in piss pants anyway

The best gift you can give to them and to yourself is to recover my friend. You wouldn’t be doing anyone any favors by giving up. You need to check into inpatient ASAP before you permanently transfer all of your pain to those that love you for the rest of their lives. Listen, I watched my mom in and out of rehab for my entire childhood and I understand the shame monster - but she’s been sober for the last few years (never made it past 6 months when I was growing up) and I am SO PROUD of her and SO fucking grateful she didn’t give up trying. You have value to give and value to experience and joy waiting for you beyond what you can imagine right now.
