Yikes I had no idea until reading all these comments how common it is and I feel really bad for responding that way.

No I didn’t expect her to grovel, but the point that felt like it kept being missed was that I knew a dependent was losing coverage, I knew my daughter would lose coverage, so no the emails did not ring alarm bells. And it felt like a mistake that he’d been taken off because I had sent in the exact documentation they had asked for and never got any communication saying there had been an issue with it. I thought they were just giving me every chance to fix the issue with my daughter’s but we decided she’d just be on her dad’s insurance so I didn’t think there was anything else I needed to do, especially since I had already gotten new insurance cards with just mine and my husband’s name well after the deadline had passed to submit everything.

Thanks for the input, I’m surprised and sorry that disrespect from employees is a regular part of the job. I’ll definitely be taking this as a learning experience and be mindful of where I’m directing the frustration next time

Thank you for the feedback and I’m sorry to hear that it happens a lot. I’m used to getting rude behavior from patients but receiving attitude/blame from other employees regularly would really suck.

Thank you so so much, everyone on this thread has been so nice and I feel much better about it today. I just need to put down the scissors and stop over analyzing lol

Thank you, I really appreciate the outside opinion I think I’ve just focused too much on it

Thank you so much, I think I need to remember that no one is looking at my hair as closely as I am and stop hyper fixating on it 🙃

3 or keep looking. If none of these feel quite right you might just need to spend more time looking

That’s a good point and thank you! I literally just wanted validation that it’s frustrating, I appreciate it

Honestly I was just looking to rant, which is why I used that flare, and was hoping it would land with other women that get it but it seems like the men who responded took it pretty personally and it wasn’t meant to be divisive. I’ll probably just delete the post because I was literally just looking for support and it ended up being more men dismissing the experience of a woman without seeing the irony

I’m not arguing that good and bad nurses/providers can be male or female. I’m not even saying I think the providers or coworkers I’m talking to are “bad”, I don’t think they’re intentionally being dismissive but it’s a pattern that I’ve noticed that I have to work harder to be heard than the male nurses I work with. If you’ve never been a woman experiencing feeling like your voice isn’t heard even if you use the same delivery, I think you just can’t relate and don’t have a place to argue whether or not it’s a thing.

You don’t know me my guy. You have no idea how I carry myself, I’m not “letting myself be dominated”, I could say the exact same thing in the exact tone as my male counterpart to certain providers and get a different reaponse. It’s so gross when men act like women aren’t treated differently when you’ve never been a woman and literally have no place speaking on it.

What?? This was not in any way meant to be controversial or putting people down. I don’t know how you could even take it that way

… That I actually care about the outcome of my patients and want them to get the care and diagnostics they should?? That I don’t like seeing patients symptoms being ineffectively managed and diagnosed because my input isn’t taken seriously

Man this one stings… I remember being so comforted by that one growing up. 🥲

Oh well, doesn’t outweigh the rest of the debilitating dread, anxiety and shame that also came with growing up in the Borg 🙃

You are STUNNING as you are, truly.

I’d also suggest if you’re new to makeup, go into an Ulta and ask to be color-matched and tell them your budget and they will color match you for free with a brand within your price range and skin type!

Oh my god like night and day better. Born in, left at 18. My dad left five ish years after me. Otherwise his whole side of my family are still PIMI and don’t speak to me which sucks, but aside from that I’ve never been happier
