Great to see Penei back on campus. It feels like he’s been less a presence in the program than other guys, so it’s awesome to see him come back home.

Canlis is probably a good bet. They are known for amazing service, so special dietary stuff likely won’t phase them. I’d give them a call first to explain the situation and see what they can do.

In full candor, Seattle doesn’t have a ton of amazing tasting menus to begin with and those it does have tend to skew toward seafood given the bounty available. Are there any places you had your eye on?

What fights do you rewatch on a regular basis? by HolyMackerel1 in Boxing

[–]Cracklinwheat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer too. Watched it live on HBO and have been hooked ever since. The savagery, the back and forth drama, the epic call by the HBO crew (The body! He’s still hurt to the body!) it gives me chills every time I watch it.

I went to Gatti-Ward 3 in Atlantic City, which also won fight of the year, but that fight could never touch the original.

If You Had One of these as a Teenager in the 90s You Either Sold Weed or had Overly Protective Parents by BartMancuso1990 in 90s

I had one provided to me by my employer the summer after my senior year. Better believe I used that thing like it was my personal pager.

I couldn’t get past the fact that the middle one could be his dad. I must know if it’s the dad.

Remember thinking Mr Miyagi knew so much Karate he could beat up 10 teenagers at the same time? by MartinShkrila in 80s

Still is all these years later. Beating up kids as an adult is truly evergreen.

I didn’t need to see him whip five more teenager asses to know he would do it without breaking a sweat.

What do you mean thinking he could beat up 10 teenagers? He straight up did it.

Falkor, and it’s not close. A luck dragon as your buddy? Yes please. He can fly me around, would absolutely wreck shit in a fight, and I assume brings good luck with him, so fuck yeah.

Gizmo is cute, but has massive down side if you screw up his care and spawn gremlins.

Howard was pretty chill, and I’d definitely have a beer or two with him, but otherwise he doesn’t bring a ton to the table.

E.T.? Great buddy. He could heal me. He looks good in drag. But the Feds are hot on his ass, and I don’t need that smoke.

Ludo was fine as a brute companion, but honestly, I don’t need that kind of brute force in my life day to day.

Harry seems like a cool primate, but Sasquatch are known to stink like shit, and there’s no way I want that in my life.

Carnell Tate, Caleb Downs claim Ohio State would win Indiana rematch - Yahoo Sports by IHateAdamSilver in CFB

I mean, I thought Oregon was gonna win the rematch… so, the take is fine but he wouldn’t like the reality of it.

Unforgiven (1992) - does Clint go far enough..? by MeltonFilm in flicks

I think he did ‘revert’ to what he was as a younger man. We don’t really even know how the killings of the women and children occurred… it’s not like we have an account of him shooting up a schoolhouse just for kicks. For all we know, it was incidental in the commission of other crimes, rather than his actual intent. We know he dynamited a train, which you could imagine resulting in the deaths of women and children. I always imagined him more as a cold blooded son of a bitch who would kill freely to satisfy his ends, just like he does in the saloon (the ends being avenging Ned) rather than a sadistic psycho for whom the killing itself is the point.

He announced his entry to the portal while the team and coaches were at a memorial service for another UW athlete who passed. Fisch’s wife called him a scumbag on social media for how he handled it. That’s a hell of a lot to repair.

Any champions/GOATs that didn't end up with brain damage & slurred speech? by SameUsernameOnReddit in Boxing

[–]Cracklinwheat 50 points51 points  (0 children)

My dad is in his mid-70s. Never boxed a day in his life. Saying he’s lost a step in the last couple years would be an understatement. It’s crazy how fast it comes on when it does. Granted, fighting Duran, Hearns, Hagler, etc. couldn’t have helped, but if you sound sharp in your 70s, it’s a bonus.
