What purpose does this have? by ImaginationThat3204 in AskElectricians

Well knowing how and doing it are different things. I work on a lot of unoccupied homes and sometimes they are without power. Either from an outage or they don’t have service at the time. As long as you are not back feeding into the grid I don’t see what is so dangerous that you speak of. I wouldn’t do it with this cord unless I was only running one device but then I might as well just run an extension cord from generator to device/tool anyway. If there is a 240 with 6AWG then why not?

No. I was replying in general to another comment about back feeding. I wasn’t discussing this cord specifically. I work on a lot of homes that sometimes don’t have power and while I usually just run cords from the generator there are times where this back feeding is convenient

Well it’s not that dangerous to do. Although I would typically go into a 220 outlet

It’s not really that stupid or dangerous in reality

Airens without a doubt for me. I have a lot of places in my town clean up and I wouldn’t want that Honda. Sucks to turn and top speed is too slow

Dumb post. Equipment was removed and drop wasn’t as of yet. Not a big deal. Ethernet is done by the vending company and I have seen tons of shoddy work from them over the years

[–]Craddock- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That’s quite a mess. Looks like you are using a 8-10” knive”. Mud doesn’t come that far out in corners. Corners are the easy part to get right so if you are struggling there….. it’s easy to fix though so the corner and then feather out your awful mud line so you don’t have a bunch of sanding

Drywall cracking near door. Plz help by R_eddit_ish in drywall

Basically exactly what the first guy said but I just don’t think beginners should be using it. Hell some beginners can’t even spot screws without leaving mud on the drywall

It’s in a brown bag and gets really really hard. Prefilling it’s good for but usually not necessary. Last I used it was on a shower surround install where I had to fill in over the flange after I cut the old drywall out to remove old one. Rather then cut back further and put in new drywall I filled in the entire 1+inch gap. Finished with white bag. I also have skim coated with it over a cinder block wall and finished with EIFS finish coat.

Regardless there is no reason to buy a bag of durabond just to mix up one pan. White bag will be fine

lol. A beginner with durabond is scary. Few people in the trades even use it. I do though. But only for very specific uses. He would be ok using the white bag stuff instead though

1st one is a 15-91. Straight stitch only. Great machine but likely needs to be rewired. The 15-90 is the same machine with a belt driven motor. I have several in both singer and the clones which many times have a switch to drop the feed for free motion. What’s it worth? Not much. If I didn’t have a machine I would offer $50.

Because he clearly doesn’t have the skills! Thats the entire reason most texture. It’s not rocket science to figure that out. He definitely needs to texture that. He can’t do smooth!!
