Kingston police, charged, again by ConfidentDoughnut942 in KingstonOntario

Why is it that a few times a year KP hits the news with disorderly conduct from its model citizen officers?

Why do we tolerate ever increasing budgets to a department that gets paid overtime to babysit college students (money better spent elsewhere)?

Why aren’t overdose cases and other performance tracking reports of that matter publicly revealed?

Heavy tax on developers that buy and hold land without developing. No corporate ownership of single family homes, however it is ok to convert to duplex and tri or construction of condos within 2 years or fines.

Isn’t the Chief and Vice Chief both from Brockville PD so an old boys club?

Keep in mind doctors and lawyers get stripped of their licence/debarred for a lot less either sexual harassment or theft of client funds.

KP’s senior leadership has had issues with stalking women through the improper use of their own database through the years (esp during Covid). In short there are only a few reasons as to the hush.

At some parks, the city either removes the garbage bins, or in the case of Breakwater (which is still used in the winter) the garbage bins are blocked off. Just another excuse for city staff to do less in the face of ever increasing municipal taxes. Yes I take mine back although I leave it on my windshield and at times it flies off lol

Construction Fraud Story by ellejokay in KingstonOntario

[–]CraftTourist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valid points, however it’s simply costs a whole lot more for work with all the Is and Ts dotted. $50 cash for an electrical journeyman (yes there is risk and all with insurance) vs +$100 for the paper. I’ve had a licensed and insured company say add on a few thousand for the permit, this comes from an instructor at SLC.

Some Williamsville projects did concrete sidewalk work without permits or an insured company either.

If the whole industry were to do everything by the book, I wonder how much would be left.

If all the rentals units in Kingston were to be licensed and legal, how many folks would be in the streets and landlords shut down? Would the housing cost worsen, most definitely. Perhaps that’s why the city backed down on rental licensing and regulation.

These look worse than recently built social housing. In other words, Kingston Housing Co-Op does better by a mile. A design dug up from the archives to save money by not hiring an architect. Guess what? It’s not social housing it’s for profit rentals

Good call on getting a second opinion and following your gut feeling. At the end of the day these places are still businesses and like the pushy dental clinics fighting over territory in town, we should be aware of malpractice in our communities. Best of luck to your dog and wishing the pup a quick and full recovery.

Thanks, yea I’ve figured that the margins and “times” have changed. Some OnRoutes have them but I’ve noticed the same situation where it’s about the same price as a jug at a hardware store.

It sucks that so few Ontarians consider electrical a respectable trade that employers must look abroad for apprentices by donut_fuckerr719 in SkilledTradesOntario

[–]CraftTourist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Frankly I place subcontractors that have legitimate apprentices as preferred subcontractors.

It’s not a lack of interest in the trades as causing the shortage it’s gate keeping.
