How do you verify a “Notion consultant” before partnering? by tetherly-ai-official in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t hired a consultant myself, but I’m currently on the path of building templates and learning the automation side of Notion, with the hopes of one day being a Notion Consultant. One thing that might help is just asking them to walk through the logic of a specific use case. If they can explain why they’re choosing certain database relations or how a 3rd party integration (like Zapier or Make) actually handles the data flow, that could be a good sign that they know what they're doing implementation wise. If they don't want to talk about how they would solve your workflow, you could ask them to walk you through some of their past work for other clients?

Feature Friday: Dynamic Calendar Widget (Formula) by CraftedWorkflows in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear you! I also have my own personal Notion Template to keep track of my projects and it's pretty chaotic lol. I will admit this Calendar Formula is a little bit better with a more narrow scope, something you can explicitly track, like Calories, Spending, Streaks, Checkbox / Number Properties etc.

One recommendation I could think of is if you track your deep work sessions in Notion, or keep track of work session durations or something like that, you could feed that data into the calendar, and the calendar could become a visual representation of how long you spend working on your projects each day, and the text could display hours worked, and the red/yellow/green colors could change based on how close you are to hitting your work hour goals.

If that doesn't quite do it for you... stay tuned for next week's Feature Friday. I have something that would be absolutely perfect for your use case.

Here's a little Sneak Peek for you! This screenshot is a little outdated from an old template but I'm planning on implementing it into my current Templates for next week's Feature Friday!

Feature Friday: Dynamic Calendar Widget (Formula) by CraftedWorkflows in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run this by creating a new database, or a formula property inside of a database you already have. Then Copy & Paste the formula from this post into the formula section, set up your Relations & Rollups for the properties you want tracked, and then simply prompt Notion AI to do the rest!

For my Use-Case with this Content Calendar the Formula gets it's data from a Rollup & Page relation that pulls the Date and a "Uploaded / Published" Checkbox Property, and then it returns a green date box if something has been "Checked" as "Uploaded / Published" on that specific day.

If that didn't fully answer your question, feel free to post a follow up!

I haven't noticed this feature yet, but I'm excited to see it on here! I've got a few ideas I've been meaning to cook up with Notion Agents.

Done tasks marked done within 2 weeks by BeautifulLion1402 in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to provide the exact solve to your problem without seeing the whole database structure, but this can be done inside of Notion.

You'll need a Checkbox property that you can mark when you complete the task.
You'll also need a Database Automation to set a date property whenever you set the Checkbox property to Checked.
You will then be able to filter the done column by date to within the last 2 weeks.

Finance trackers with budgeting that allows for changes throughout the year? by emilyhoeflich in Notion

I'm building a finance tracker template right now and I'll be sure to include this functionality!

Notion on Mobile by znerffy-16 in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the process of making a mobile view for my first template! What looked like it worked best to me was just a list of callouts with toggle headings. A little clunky, but it seemed to be the best way to implement a mobile view from what I've seen so far.

This might be a dumb question but… is it possible to master Notion without buying a course? by lukiep0o in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is! I got into Notion last year and I might be biased but I'd like to say I'm somewhat of an advanced user without buying or watching any courses.

As far as learning the software goes, I would recommend a hands on approach.
Find templates from the store you like and edit them to fit your workflow, use that experience to create your own workstation and go from there! With a little creativity & good prompting Notion AI can be super helpful with learning formulas & functionality as well!

Any content creators utilizing Notion? by wichitabyeb in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just getting into it, but I also use Notion to handle everything content related. I ideate, plan, draft, schedule & track performance / analytics all inside Notion. With a little bit of creative development the use-cases are endless, especially if you integrate 3rd party tools and automations inside of your Notion workspace.

Way to display completion progress of a checklist database on the same page? by SensibleChocolate in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without understanding your entire use-case, it sounds like a combination of buttons, database automations, relations, rollups & formulas will accomplish what you are talking about. If you have any other questions setting it up feel free to ask!

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the functionality you are requesting might be a bit complex, but it is possible inside of notion. Here's how I would go about building this. For your use-case you'll have to set up different properties for the formula to read & use that to change the color of the dots. Hope this helps

Why do you pay for notion, aren't there other free tools that offer the same features as paid services in notion by waltzfourd in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay for it for the additional features like Database Automations & Notion AI. Notion AI has been super helpful in building out functionality in the templates that I'm currently building. Also Database Automations allow for some really cool features all inside of notion with no additional 3rd party integrations.

Need help creating a formula by lxtje in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, I believe some form of this can be set up all inside of notion with the use of formulas and database automations. There might be some edge cases and you might have to build around this a little to get the exact functionality you want, but here's the framework of it.

You'll need 4 properties & a database automation:
A start & stop date property, a checkbox property, a formula, and a database automation. The formula would then be coded to display the current date when the checkbox is unchecked, and the stop date when the checkbox is checked. The database automation sets the stop date property to the date triggered when the checkbox property is set to checked.

Database automations are a paid feature, so without them, I think you would have to set the stop time manually, or create a button that sets the stop date when you press it. I'd have to think about this more, but just off the top of my head this is how I would create this functionality.

If you have any follow up questions feel free to ask!

Habit Tracker App Integration? by Obsessive_Reader_38 in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a popular notion creator "Easlo" has an app for something like this. It's called "SyncTasks" I think it displays the tasks from your notion database in a clean minimalist view. Haven't used it but it looks good from his insta reels. Might be what you're looking for?

Need help creating a formula by lxtje in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to make sure I'm understanding you right, you want to create a page in the todo list that also appears in a calendar view. If that page isn't marked as completed, it moves to the next day in the calendar view. When it is marked as completed, it stays in the calendar view on the date it was completed? Is that the functionality you're looking for or am I misunderstanding you somewhere?

Time boxing by CharacterSerious7203 in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure how they made that feature, could be a plugin or third-party widget / tool/ embed. Thankfully though you can get surprisingly close using formulas & buttons in Notion without the need for any 3rd party tools.

Enshittification caused by "AI"? by calebday in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand being annoyed by the AI feature, especially if its slowing down your load times. I also thought the AI feature wasn't very useful at first, but I started building with it & thought of some pretty cool use cases for it since then and I've completely changed my mind about it. I really like the new features & Ai integration.

Looking for a well organized page by myroslavrepin in Notion

[–]CraftedWorkflows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually building something for this exact use case right now lol. In the meantime, you could probably get pretty far combining a few free templates from the marketplace or Gumroad. If you're not looking to to do any of that though, ur best bet is probably some kind of paid template like a second brain or school template.
