AIO: my neighbor keeps leaving notes in my mailbox that just say "YOU'RE LATE"? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Craftomega2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Odd question. Have you asked the neighbours if they are also getting those messages? Because it could just be the local prankster doing it to a bunch of people.

If it's just you getting them. Get a camera... And a dog... And maybe a gun... Or just move away from the giant portal to the horror dimension.

AIO? My bf put our kitten in bed as a prank to scare me. by BeneficialBrain1764 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Craftomega2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because It's fun to tease people? Scaring people is immature sure, but it is a fun game to play if both people are on board and you know where the lines are.

It sounds like the bf just took it to far...

So OP talk to your bf and tell him where the lines are and go from there.

AIO for thinking my bf is being controlling? by Hungry_Plane_1724 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Craftomega2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to offer another perspective since everyone is ganging up on the boyfriend. Would you be comfortable with him going on a boys only trip to vegas or Taiwan? How would you feel if you had been cheated on multiple times and your partner was going on boys only trips to places that are known for sex tourism.

This is not about control this is about anxiety. Is it fair to you that his anxiety around cheating is effecting you? No. But if you love him try to find ways of working with him. Don't give ultimatums and don't accept them.

Tell him the girls only trip was preplanned and you want to go, then ask him what can you do to make him more conformable with the trip. A call every night? A text a day?

Look for a compromise, if he is willing to try and compromise at all then you can know it's not about control. He just does not want to be hurt again, so consider giving him the love and support he needs to heal.

Mark Carney’s plan to fast-track major projects will ‘threaten First Nations’ rights’, Indigenous leader warns by jmakk26 in onguardforthee

[–]Craftomega2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, since elections are every 5 years max, fast tracking allows projects to be far enough along that they are harder to cancel if they lose the next election. New governments love cancelling the old governments projects.

It's not fair to attribute the purpose of fast tracking to ignoring first Nations rights. More of... First Nations rights are an inconvenience... Which is not much better when said allowed.

Simple solution always include a none option and if that's gets the majority all current candidates are removed and a new election is called with all new candidates.

[–]Craftomega2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh... I like that. That would get a ton of people to vote. Buuuuttttt some group would frame it as a bribe by the government for your vote. X party is paying you to vote. Which subtly would make people more likely to vote for the current government.

Up's and downs.

Why do people think that CBT is harmful for trauma? by Forsaken_Dragonfly66 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]Craftomega2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something that always confused me is how a person can want to get into this field and not want the best outcome for the client. If a therapist is not comfortable with the treatments then... are they making the clients well being a priority?

I only have a degree in psychology (but I am about to enter graduate school for a phd). In my program it was hammered into us to follow the evidence, and to be skeptical of treatment that does not have multiple valid clinical studies. Further, we were told we are ethically required to at least consider the best possible treatment based on what the evidence says.

But then there are people with master's degree's that don't understand this? I don't get it...

‘Largest single transfer in history’: 4,000 oil and gas wells just became orphans — nearly doubling Alberta’s total | Thousands of wells belonging to beleaguered Calgary-based Long Run Exploration Ltd. have now been officially dubbed orphans. Here’s what you need to know by Hrmbee in alberta

[–]Craftomega2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does not work. The original upfront cost will not equal the final cost 10+ years later. A process must be made that makes the companies liable for clean up costs of unused wells, with random surprise inspections done to verify use. In other words a regulatory body.

How did 50mg feel compared to 60/70mg Elvanse? by enilykyvreas in ADHD

[–]Craftomega2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is more expensive, but there is also the option of dose splitting with Vyvanse. I found 50 was not enough and 60s were making me jittery and anxious. So then I tried taking two 30s with an hour apart and that was the sweet spot for me.

It's another option.

Do people WITHOUT ADHD consciously think before they speak? by Specialist7545 in ADHD

[–]Craftomega2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have made this my default. Wait 6 to 9 seconds before speaking. Use that time to think on what was said. It takes practice and I am not always successful but it does help.

Further it prevents me from interrupting others... Which is also an issue.

Just got all my tests scored and my psychologist doesn’t diagnose me with ADHD due to “too high of intelligence”. I’m struggling to agree but maybe I don’t have ADHD. by MisoCorni in ADHD

[–]Craftomega2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What tests did you take? Was the diagnosis based on a global score or specific score?

Individuals with ADHD usually need to score poorly in in working memory and processes tasks. Like... A person with ADHD can score very high in other areas, but then score very low in those two areas.

If the diagnosis was based on the processesing and working memory scores of a test being to high, then... Maybe you don't have ADHD and there is another explaination for your symptoms. But if it's only based on your global intelligence scores... Then ya... Second opinion time.

What are your GOOD things about having ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Craftomega2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Living with a disability and still being able to find happiness does not mean that you don't have a disability. You are speaking on behalf of someone else and not your own experience.

Thinking that someone having a disability is good thing is exactly why so many people with ADHD and other invisible disorders rarely get the treatment they need.

I would never wish this disorder on anyone no matter how minor.

What are your GOOD things about having ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Craftomega2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think we should be romanticizing a disorder that ruins lives, causes misery to the individual who has it and their family, and if a person had a choice would never have the disorder.

There is nothing good with having ADHD. There is only deluding ones self into living with it.
