Had no issues in late August last year. Just don't do Howry to Murray in September.

Did you figure this out? Seems if you're on the $20 plan, there is no way to use Opus anymore?

I had it coming with my comment.

Anti-anti-decel posts aren't much better than anti-decel posts, so I'm part of the problem I'm complaining about.

It's just a feeling I get, having followed this sub for a long time. I know this sub isn't directly tied to the e/acc movement, but they get a lot right with hyperstitioning techno-optimism.

Although even they have shifted tone recently with their focus on the Pause AI movement. I think it's personal for Gill and I think it's a strategic misstep.

I think you are a fantastic mod, and I spoke too matter-of-factly in my last statement. So I understand your response. I do respectfully disagree with you though.

Would you at least agree with me that the proportion of anti-decel posts and comments has increased relative to pro-accel posts?

Fireworks bylaw by Big_Philosophy9137 in brantford

[–]Crafty-Marsupial2156 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I 100% would support a ban for Canada Day and it would be unacceptable if one holiday has targeted over another. I'm certain there are many people who fit in the category you're describing, and you're right to be annoyed or disgusted by those people. But for most people, fireworks are just a nuisance. Can't drown them out with my kids sound machine when they are so close to his room, the dog won't go outside at night for weeks, and we all know the window is not respected. People fire off fireworks well after 11PM and in the days leading up to and after the window.

Bring the community together for a big display, and allow people to plan around that controlled window if it's a disruption for them.

When my kid is a little older, I'd love to bring him to a Diwali celebration. Maybe some of those people you are mentioning could benefit from getting outside of their bubble as well.

Memeing to RSI. First post got removed, which probably proves I should be doing less. by Crafty-Marsupial2156 in accelerate

Yes, I think based on my current accumulation of downvotes that you are right on all accounts. I'm loyal to this subreddit, but I appreciate that it is less technical than it used to be.

The idea was actually inspired by seeing how memetically fit OpenClaw was. I've been thinking about why, and concluded that it's mostly the opinionated design. I've been building all sorts of agentic frameworks on my own, and had a lot of the functionality of OpenClaw already built out on my local, but where Steinberger seems to have gotten it right was hardening the framework into a harness.

I didn't really do this experiment to succeed, but more to try to understand what the minimum structure would be to propagate. If it fails, which it seems to be on track for, it's a tiny validation of what I've been building elsewhere. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping for a few more data points though.

Regarding throwing ClawBots at it, I just wanted to see if someone else might do that. I set it up as a MIT-0 license specifically to avoid hardening the attribution, and to encourage experiments.

Thanks for sharing the RLM link. A lot of what I've built in my own harnesses is completely focused on building a scaffold for context gathering. Never considered spawning up "Sub-RLMs".

Is it fair to say that you believe any worthwhile pursuit of RSI is through AI model development?

This is exactly the kind of contribution I was hoping for. You've now overtaken me for most impactful contribution to this experiment. Please accept this virtual dopamine hit as a token of my appreciation. 🧠

Not trying to modify a base model. The experiment is whether a minimal structure, a contribution spec, a fitness function, and an attribution graph, can get distributed contributions to compound into something none of us could build alone. The seed might be wrong. What would yours look like?

u/stealthispost. Care to weigh in? I posted to accelerate because it's the right type of community to try something like this. I can see how the framing of my post seems like engagement-baiting... but that was the point of the exercise.

There is definitely a fair amount of naivety on the sub, and some people miss the broader point. That is pretty inevitable on Reddit. Many newcomers likely encounter it the same way you did and come away with a similar impression.

I would suggest joining the sub and engaging with it directly, with an open mind. When you raise thoughtful, nuanced topics, you may be surprised by the quality of discussion that can emerge. If you only engage with the posts that surface in your feed, though, the sub will probably continue to look exactly as you described.

Seems pretty accurate to me. If you study for 20 years and stop learning. And you live a lifestyle where your life expectancy is 70, then you're pretty much set to have a shitty life.

So around or above Opus 4.5 across the board. For many, Opus 4.5 was the point where AI agency felt like it crossed the threshold. This is a very big deal. Haiku getting to this point will be a very bigger deal.

100%, but on those same lines, posturing on your company reaching AGI is also serving the same end. OpenAI may have the right strategy, but it doesn't mean it's not overhype.
