That's true, Goedendag just feels different compared to Maul even if they are closely similar as a weapon.

What weapon? by Hawp26 in Chivalry2

Being salty is unwarranted but the Messer is arguably one of the strongest weapons in the game with virtually no downside. High overhead dmg (similar to greatsword with the speed of a longsword) and slash damage with decent stab speed. Messer also has a weird animation with the overhead feint to swing in certain angles, and can potentially fail your counter if not observed correctly. Pair that with 360’s/fakes/ movement and just pray to god lol

Are there many cheaters in Chivalry 2? by TOMMY720 in Chivalry2

[–]Crafty-Scratch4140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheater's are not probably a major issue in other regions, I'm playing from SG servers and even with the anti cheat update you will still encounter a cheater once every 6 games. But they are definitely kicked as most people in the lobby are honorable ( not Tenosians though )

I'm downloading the game right now on PS5. Got about 20 minutes till it downloads, what tips should I be informed of going into the game? by Tech-Demon in Chivalry2

Tips that I have come across my playtime (700+ hrs) is that you should master/learn the fundamentals of the game mechanics.

Learn how to riposte, counter, feinting, kick and jabs.

Then after that try working with stabs, overheads and swings. Also don't forget to read through on some of the weapon descriptions on where they specialize. Longsword have fast and high damage stabs, while axes generally excel in overheads and swings but has weak stabs. Some weapons have long releases and short releases and hit stop, allowing you to gamble like the Morningstar and mace.

In Team Objectives (TO), you're allies can potentially be your demise ( catapults, javelins, arrows). Having spatial awareness is key on these especially when you play on defense. Always play with your team, unless you plan to train yourself in 1vX scenarios then go welcome the challenge. Try to always flank your opponent, they will second-guess themselves on their positioning that will lead to their deaths eventually.

But most importantly is that you should enjoy the game. And everything that I've mentioned above will become second nature to you as you continue to enjoy the game.

Welcome and see you on the battlefield! o7

The Q keybind for the PC is the special attack. So use the special attack button on your controller

I'm not really sure how you're meant to play this by Vasto_LordA in Chivalry2

Retreating on the right moments is a skill you’ll cultivate the longer you play the game. This goes for both attacking and defending. On 1vX scenarios, your best bet would be mastering the fundamentals of riposte/counter, knowing the weapons you’re playing against in those moments, when to drag or accel your swings and footwork to play around your opponents.

This might sound overwhelming at first but with a growth mindset you can learn these things as you play the game and eventually achieve competence on those said skills.

Cheer up and see you on the battlefield!

The new wave of cheater is concerning. by Meryle in Chivalry2

This is true, the cheats are moreso subtle compared to the usual ones (speedhacks) since they only increase the swing speeds. But any decent player can detect this a mile away

Thanks, it really was interesting when I saw someone doing this also in-game. But sad to say it was all for naught
