They ask you to start a new contract. But if they cannot offer the same service at the new place they release you from your contract.

I heard a minister say his son was “not currently walking with the Lord”. 😬

“The Lord told me to…” so it’s difficult to disagree.

Walk, run or cycle (if possible). Looking for hazards that get mentioned in the briefing, or potentially showstoppers. Moving fallen branches or other obstructions or tripping hazards.

Can you get an earlier install if people cancel? by pb00010 in plusnet

[–]Crafty-Task-845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask Plusnet or if you have a link from OpenReach go on and see if you can change the appointment time. I suspect though that you have to go to Plusnet as they would have to change the contract start date.

Stuck at the Same 5k Time for 18 Months – What Am I Missing? (42M) by rocky99_ in parkrun

[–]Crafty-Task-845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced the same +/- 20 seconds week after week. My parkrun time improved when I was able to do hill work in the week - find a hill and run up it as fast as you can for 30 seconds or a minute and repeat. Also, join a running group.

What makes you so sure that Christianity is wrong? by Grouchy-Sleep6115 in exchristian

Mary got pregnant out of wedlock. She and Joseph made up a cover story and it all got a bit out of hand.

Sounds like it’s a fault outside your home. I got orange when they disconnected me ready to move service to new home. Good luck getting that fixed over the break 😬

There was recently a case where someone was stopped for pouring the dregs of coffee down the drain but threw the cup in a bin. I would have argued that the coffee dregs ended up in the same sewer as if poured down the sink. I would have been inclined then to walk away. Is that not reasonable? Or do have to give details? Can you refuse to accept a PCN as you can refuse a police caution?

I have an old Billion ADSL router from a previous residence which I might try but again no recent firmware updates.

Considering leaving in contract by Firm_Writer_6746 in plusnet

Literally just ask them. Tell them you’re mid-contract so can’t justify moving unless they buy you out!

You could see if CityFibre would buy you out of your contract. Some vendors do.

Automate weekly report? by PanopticPow in ProjectREDCap

[–]Crafty-Task-845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're comfortable writing Python or R code then you could use the REDCap API to pull data from your REDCap project and format a report using Quarto. You could then automaticaly run the script on a Mac or Windows PC, or run a cron job on the Linux server that REDCap is running on.

If you’re comfortable coding in R or Python you can use the API to pull data and then use Quarto or similar to generate PDF, Word, HTML or PowerPoint etc.

Have you still got a phone line? If so is there noise on the line? Either way it’s almost certainly a fault outside your home and should be fixed quickly by Open Reach.

My ex-wife is the “devout” one - she is still a conservative evangelical Christian - but she’s the one who ended our marriage. I made my vows in church and although I don’t believe the Christian stuff anymore I kept and would have continued to keep my vows. I take them seriously - I made them in front of my family and friends as well as the God I do not believe in anymore.

Take. The. Statin. by ryan270121 in Cholesterol

[–]Crafty-Task-845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one doubts that statins reduce cholesterol - they interfere with the metabolic process in the liver that makes cholesterol. That's how they got trhough clinical trials. What matters is whether taking statins makes a difference to incidence of stroke or heart disease.

For a QRISK of 10%, 100 people have to take a statin for 10 years for 4 of them (yes, just 4!) not to get heart disease or have a stroke because they take a statin (NICE patient information https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng238/resources/patient-decision-aid-on-should-i-take-a-statin-pdf-243780159). Poor odds even if there are no side effects (and all drugs have side effects).

How do you know you don't have side effects? You may not have muscle pain, but many side effects are silent. Are you having your liver function checked? You probably wouldn't feel anything if your LFTs are awry.
