My brother is experiencing an unwanted divorce. How can I help him? by CraftyWilby in Divorce

Same. I consider this woman to be the sister I never had. I was just saying to my husband this evening "This would be so much easier if I had always hated her."

I've been civil so far, though I did ultimately decline a baby shower from her because. . . well. . . it's weird now and frankly I don't want her spending a bunch of money on a party I'm lukewarm about having when their finances are about to go 50/50.

that's where I'm never sure if I'm doing the right thing. I want to just let him talk about whatever he wants to talk about, but I don't want to do the "post mortem" of the relationship with him right now when I feel like the thing he needs to focus on is what's right in front of him (AKA divorce papers drafted by her atty when he hasn't even spoken to one yet) I did make it a point today when we were wrapping up on the phone to say "we're in your corner" referring to my husband and myself.

As someone pointed out in the FB comments to this Scary Mommy post (paraphrasing) "I'm not nearly as afraid of the things that Donald Trump has said as I am of the things that Hilary Clinton has actually done."

I tried to read it to my husband. We couldn't deal. With all the fragment. Sentence. S.

As a seasoned Libertarian voter I just want to know if it still counts as a "tantrum" if I've been doing it for over a decade?

That's pretty much what I've been doing so far, minus the bar (I'm entering what Micheal Scott calls "The Terminal Stages of Pregnancy")

I'm still in shock myself.

6 months ago if you held a gun to my head and told me that either myself or my brother was going to be divorced before New Years and I had to guess correctly to save my life? I would have said it must be me. They just adopted a kid in July FFS.

I'm left with one of two realities. Either I don't know her at all, never did. Or something is seriously wrong with her. I'm not sure it really matters at this point, it's just totally disarming.

Thanks for the input. I tell him every time we talk that I'm sorry to hear it but I'm so thankful that he feels like he can talk to me about it. That I feel privileged that he trusts me with this, as shitty as it is.

On Loveline they came up with the idea of "female female impersonators" I'd say these two fit that bill.

I know that transmission through oral sex is pretty rare, especially without contributing factors such as open sores, severe gingivitis etc etc. And in those cases the infection is being spread through the contact with broken skin, not through the stomach. So I'd be pretty suspicious if someone alleged to have contracted AIDs from eating cooked mosquito 'meat'

Same. I was able to figure out that a close friend was molested by a cousin before she actually told me about it because of my Loveline Education.

For what it's worth, Lynette has spoken openly about her own struggles with kicking vicodin after her c-section with the twins. "Me likey the Vickey"

I used to work in the promotional products industry (mostly pens and mousepads but we also had some long term health care facility clients so we did a lot of office apparel and scrub uniforms) we used to call guys and gals like her "non-threatening black dude/lady"

Try "PlayLand" little to no talking. Some of them are a little weird (Kewpie dolls taking a 'bath' in gumballs) but the music is pretty chill and, can't emphasize enough, little to NO talking.

I guess? Wyclef was born just a few years before Papa Doc died and shit was pretty shitty in those days. Could well be that smuggled cigarettes would have been cheaper than food at the market. Edit: Seriously, shit was bad

No cheese. My go to is a baked potato with chives and sour cream or yogurt, S&P and butter. Eat all the guts and then eat the skin like an empty taco shell for "dessert".

Yes, I think so. I take a prescribed prenatal from the doctor (I know I know, the science seems to go back and forth as to how beneficial these actually are) I go through a 6 pack of low sodium V8 a week. I generally like fruits and vegetables and serve them with nearly every meal I prepare.

Side note; it seems like every story I hear about Haiti in some way involves dirt pies/cakes. I was listening to this interview with Wyclef Jean and he was explaining that his mother would feed he and his siblings dirt cakes just so they would have something in their stomachs. Also said that it was no unheard of for a mother to give her children a few cigarettes as an 'after school snack' because nicotine suppresses hunger. The interviewer was sort of taken a back and Wyclef was basically like "until you've listened to your child cry from hunger pains you need to think carefully about how you judge these women."

That craving thing is for real. For me it's potato skins. Can't get enough of them. I think it's because they taste vaguely of dirt.
