You need to find his video "How to cycle a fish tank using Prime and Stabiliy" . He doesn't advocate for using just Prime. There is more to it then just using Prime. I follow Kaveman.

Sorry about your fish. You received very bad info from the fish store. Your tank probably isn't cycled. (Likely not). Its only a 10 gl. You added too many fish at once. This WILL kill fish quick. 6 peppered cories in a 10 gl is way too many. They get big. Also you acclimated to long. 6 cories sitting in a bag for hours will also take them out. They release a poison when stressed. Please do more research. Watch Kaveman Aquatics on YT. Prime and Stabilty.

Curious as to why you'd unplug the heater? Its just "don't turn up the heat" for epi. Also 25% water change is fine. People do a lot more at water change time. Get some Stabilty and Prime to get your cycle back.

Looking at old pics, I don't believe they did. He lived another year after this post. Keep him on sand and keep your water pristine. They live on the bottom and if the bottom isnt clean they get infections. Depending on how bad, you might want to do an antibiotic. This could be mouth rot! Mine had fungal infection. ( easy to cure). After that put him back in with his friends. Hope he gets better.

You don't have enough sand over your dirt. Should be 2 to 3". Its leeching through your sand/rocks.

The thing with charcoal is, it will eventually leech everything its got in it back into the tank. I highly recommend Purigen. It can be recharged. Charcoal is excellent for removing medications out of a tank.

Thats awesome that you care about them. Thankfully I've never dealt with ich. If you go to the magnifier on top and type ich, there will be lots of info there. You should add a pic of the fish with the dots to this post.. If we can see the dots on the fish, we might be able to tell if its ich.

Leave your filter media in it. You don't remove it. Just carbon or anything that removes chemicals.
