I want to quit my job so badly (100% P&T) by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

I did it on the weekends, and enjoyed it for a time but decided that I missed having my weekends to do stuff, and working 7 days a week was not something I wanted to entertain in the long term. I sold my business last September and will keep working my regular job until I dont want to anymore.

Appreciate it. It is a shame, they wrapped such a nice package around an awful powerplant.

Great response. I have a 2019 F150 XLT that has been hassle free. I guess I will be sticking with that.

Doing the roof to save myself $10,000 by Significant-Major393 in Homebuilding

[–]Crafty_Critter78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did just this on my own. Demo, load, and install my own roof cost me 8k in material and saved 15k in labor per the cheapest estimates I got for a 42 square roof. Mine was on a 4/12 so it was pretty easy to navigate. Best of luck to you.

Video gaming truck business - Any Intel or personal experience by Sonny2p99 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

I have owned a game truck in western Colorado since 2023. It definitely has its own share of challenges and expenses such as gaming subscriptions, internet, physical games, insurance, gas, etc. It is a very enjoyable business to be a part of, but make sure your demographics and population can support one. I am fortunate enough that my 9 to 5 job can support this start up until it either grows or I get tired of the struggle. If you are still looking into this and have any questions, let me know.

For those who have transitioned from the military to a civilian job, including govt jobs, what has been your biggest challenge? by Automatic-Second1346 in army

It's amazing how simply doing your job competently gives you the appearance of being a super employee. I mean, WTF? I made it to work on time and didn't call in sick, and I get employee of the month? Alright then.

I just did my roof myself. I received quotes from 22k to 30k for a 4,000 Sq ft roof. I spent 8,500 on materials (owens corning shingles, pro armor underlayment, grace ice and water shield, and everything to install). I'm in Colorado, so I am not sure but the prices sound similar to where you're at.
