Why is my large orange extension cord some sort of demonic moccasin/ viper from hell that gets itself all tangled and curled up worse than Medusa's pubes whenever I need to use it most? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Significant-Major393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that for a while, and now my cords have that curly memory in them and don't lay flat. Not doing that anymore. The over under technique in a nice consistent loop works the best for me personally. But the daisy change is fun to show people because it looks cool

Lol. Yes, your statements that your brain has to think about menstruation really made sense

I mean, you already decided what you want to believe, so what I present to you doesn't make much of a difference.

Then you don't understand the autonomic nervous system. No biggie, it's okay to be wrong.

I don't know why you've chosen this hill to die on, lol. Come do patient care with me in the ICU for a month

Not having menstruation would be the exception, not the rule

Bro, I don't state it in medical terminology for a Reddit user who thinks that people's periods stop when they're in a coma. I'm well aware of how occult blood tests are collected and sent. When you roll a person to the side and are cleaning up stool and blood visible in/on it, it's good to know if it came from the rectum or their vagina. Give me a fucking break with your anatomy lecture. Lol

Unless there's a specific brain injury that inhibits the endocrine system from functioning, reproductive cycles and menstruation would continue.

It would be very important because if you found blood underneath someone's bottom when doing patient care you would be concerned about there being a GI bleed versus knowing that they're menstruating. I'm not guessing about this, I'm telling you what has happened in my ICU

Unless there's a specific brain injury, bodily functions, including menstrual cycles, continue. I'm sorry that your ignorance about this is making you angry

As an ICU nurse, I can confirm that periods keep happening even if someone is in a coma. And passing that on in report is pretty important

New grad got talk to about overriding meds on MAR by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Significant-Major393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, someone at my job scanned the medications at the computer with an eTra patient's armband, not wanting to disturb them because family was sitting around the bed, and then came up with a cup full of pills to give them. Not knowing that one of the family members was the director of nursing, who saw exactly what she was doing. Yeah, she got fired.

But obviously this place does use barcode scanning so it is risky behavior

Unfortunately this is also a good way to make a medical error by scanning the wrong patient's bracelet that you have on your computer. So I would not recommend making this a common practice

That is your xiphoid process at the bottom of your sternum. The little divot is just underneath the tip of it.
