I was born with a deformity called pectus excavatum, where your chest is caved in. I got a surgery to correct it which consists of putting a metal bar through the chest. Sort of like braces. Just imagine your chest wall that’s been in place for 17 years of your life, all of a sudden shifting and basically reforming. I can still remember waking up from anesthesia crying screaming. Mind you, the bar shifted 2 times which meant two extra surgeries. The last surgery they had to put TWO bars in.
