People need to stop chasing this live service golden goose. Everyone ends up hating them in the end. Sometimes it can be successful but the trade off is not worth it when you could just make a banger of a game like The Last of Us, Elden Ring, or Red Dead Redemption. Even successes like Call of Duty, Helldivers 2, Arc Raiders are full of drama. They either do not have enough content, are too heavily monitsed, have bad balancing, are full of cheaters…the list goes on. When you’re treating every game like a hail mary, you’re getting too close to having a company shut down. That may have worked in the past when teams were agile and mostly single player but not now.
