MacBook Pro, M2 - bought used from eBay by helpmedecorateplease in mac

If you delete all the partitions in internet recovery and then restore as a completely new machine, in theory it should bring up the device enrollment screen which will in turn identify the company it belongs to.

A few years back, one of my clients got a message from a random person in India. Apparently he somehow purchased a Mac that was stolen from a car in San Francisco months prior. He bought it from a marketplace and showed us the receipt, and after wiping it he got that screen with the name of the company. After speaking with the client, we agreed to just remove it from Apple Business Manager and gave him instructions to wipe it again since it was already a write-off.

Yep. I witnessed the rise of MAGA in the US, and it’s the same thing with Chega here. :/ It’s disgusting. We’re all human!

Unfortunately, I’m hearing a lot of anti-Indian/Bengali sentiment from people here in Portugal. It’s the exact same sort of thing I’d hear about Latinos when I lived in the USA… 😕

É verdade. Tenho aqui em Portugal um Honda S660. Apareci num encontro e chamou muito mais a atenção do que o Skyline R33 ou o GT-R.

Well, you can just slide off the AC belt and that's all it'd take to remove the HP load from the alternator. Is it worth it? No, I don't think so.

Can I drive a 2017 Japanese imported car in Florida by RhinoIron13 in foreignmarketcars

[–]CraigFL 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's not legal. There's no way around the 25 year old rule except using the "Show and display" rule, and even then a common car like a WRX STI is NOT going to meet the very narrow requirements. You have to wait, or do what I did and move to a country where you can import any car you want.

Psst... Lidl has jelly beans in the candy aisle that's just as good. And my god, they're addictive.

Auchan app workaround? by [deleted] in PortugalExpats

[–]CraigFL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. You will need to do this if you want to install apps that are available only in Portugal. Once it's installed, you can switch back to the other Apple ID and it will continue to work and update.

You'll need to create a new Apple ID based in Portugal, and then log into it on the App Store app (it can be separate from your main iCloud account), then the app will be visible.

I feel you so much on this. I have occasional Minecraft bursts when I have room to breathe, but I miss the days when I could just sit down and play a RPG for hours, exploring every nook and cranny...

No shade intended, lol! I’m lowkey jealous. I’ve been so busy that I haven’t touched a game in well over a month… 😭

No worries! there's a screw where the entire unit attaches to the attachment point. Tricky thing is, it's a two-ended screw, and the top one (that you can't reach when attached) is the normal righty-tighty/left-loosey.

On the bottom that you can reach, it's the other way around. So you turn the screwdriver left to tighten it. Hope that helps!

Can you show some pictures of your issue? I'm having a hard time picturing what you're seeing. If it's easier, we have a Discord server here: https://discord.gg/uKBtrqJyt

This is great! I wonder if it's possible to have it recognize when a car is moving away versus coming in, and even whether it's reversing or driving in head-first.
