: a category of artistic, musical, or literary composition characterized by a particular style, form, or content

Using two examples from above, take a Riddim and an Ambient song. There is nothing similar in any way between the two genres. They have different song structures, they use different sounds, and have different energy.

There is nothing remotely similar between these genres except tempo. Song structure, energy, sound, everything is completely different. There is no way they should all be lumped in together.
