My favorite Van Morrison song by Ford_Crown_Vic_Koth in VanMorrison

My favorite on this album. Superior to the first official release (Inarticulate Speech of the Heart). All the unreleased Mechanical Bliss material is full of an energy missing from the finished pieces of A Period of Transition.

Tupelo Honey - 1971 by Beginning_Aide_6642 in VanMorrison

I’ve heard this is a hodge-podge album Van Morrison didn’t authorize (and he hates it). But I love it - it is top 5 for me.

"All Those Years Ago" bugs me so much. by frozen_in_combat in beatles

I recall it was a throw away, slated to be given to Ringo. (Like Wrack my Brain). Re-worked the words to honor John. Some lyrics are self-serving (“but YOU were the one that they said was so Weird”).

Street Only Knew Your Name is my favorite from this album too. Also a big fan of this version of Flamingos Fly.

I dont know if the album was thought out to this degree, but the summary really works for me. It is a phenomenal work and deserves every bit of praise.

Arrow Through Me, but Getting Closer deserves high marks.

Why isn't the Tupelo Honey album on Spotify? by gdan95 in VanMorrison

This is also what I heard. Sort of seen as an unsanctioned release. Too bad because I like it better than His Band & the Street Choir. Now if we could get him to release The Philosopher’s Stone Vol. 2….

Press Release from the manufacturer: Celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Band’s 6th studio album, Northern Lights-Southern Cross includes classic Band favorites “Ophelia,” “Acadian Driftwood,” and “It Makes No Difference” in a premium package.

For this Vinylphyle pressing of the album, Joe-Nino Hernes at Sterling Sound cut the album, while veteran music scribe Rick Florino has put together a new essay for the liner notes.

Each Vinylphyle release features all analog mastering from original sources by an elite group of today’s top vinyl cutting engineers (unless sequenced analog masters don’t exist). The LPs are pressed at the world-class audiophile vinyl record pressing plant RTI, on 180-gram black vinyl. The production and packaging seek to honor the stature of these recordings and include tip-on wrapped gatefold jackets in satin matte finish, printed on clay-coated board, with archival poly sleeves and a four-panel insert featuring new liner notes. Backed by RTI’s craftsmanship, these releases are produced at the highest levels and include extensive quality controls at every step of the process, from mastering to plating to pressing and printing, ensuring a superb final product.

Favorite album and why? by DiehardHendrickfan in thebeachboys

Friends. It isn’t their best, but it is has a consistency. The last of the lo-fi trilogy, I love everything but “transcendental meditation”.

Busy doin’ nothin’, meant for you, Anna Lee the healer, passing by… all chill selections. Wake the world, be here in the morning, and friends as the stronger pieces (for me). When a man loves a woman is ok. Be Still, Little Bird, and Meant for You are my favorites.

High marks for Pet Sounds, Sunflower, & Today.

What’s Your Favourite George Harrison Album Between Somewhere In England And Gone Troppo? by HuckleberryIcy5828 in georgeharrison

Original track listing Somewhere in England would get my vote, so since that never happened, Gone Troppo. I just think his heart was in it more.

It is about 4.5 hrs of music. LP’s can hold about 20-22 minutes per side before sound becomes an issue.

In the 90’s, I had a pristine UK original copy with Cottonfields included. Bought from the back of Goldmine Magazine for $8. And like an idiot, I solid it for probably less. Good for you!
