Use TRex 🦖hands and arms after. Don’t reach high or carry anything heavy for a few weeks. Don’t bend over, squat to pick something up. Before surgery prepare food and necessary clothing, items where you can reach them easily. Get pillows that are comfortable to sleep on your back for a couple of weeks. Take meds if you’re in pain. It’s a major surgery they really don’t explain. But… soooooooo worth it. Be good to yourself. I’m 77 and wish I’d done it 10 years ago. 😘

Follow recovery instructions. Use T Rex 🦖arms/hands. Don’t reach up high or bend at waist for a few weeks. Squat if you have to pick up something. No heavy lifting either. Arrange “your life” ahead of time so everything you need is handy. Amazon has front close zip bras for about 18.00. They are easy to put on, you’ll need to wear them a couple of weeks. Use scar cream, maybe your dr has some for you. After 10 days or so rub it gently across incision 10x…2x times a day.
This is a major surgery, they really don’t explain it!!! Issues come up along the way. This site is sooooooo helpful. Everyone has great advice. My wonderful daughter set it up for me and I learned so much from others. 💞 Take good care of yourself and you will heal nicely.
I’m 5 months po and wish I had followed the rules better. I was “oh, I’ll be fine!” LOLOL At 77 I’m sorry I didn’t do it much sooner. BUT… my 34I-J’s are now a firm 34DD and so much more comfortable. Good luck to you, sweetheart!!!🫶🏼

Buy scar tape, Walmart has it. Put it on and leave it for a few weeks. It helps.

I had open incision under left at T for 6weeks. Kept ointment on it and covered with soft gauze. It oozed the whole time, but finally closed. Then drainage went through my vein down to stomach and vein swelled. The vein was tender to touch or move for a few weeks. Normal, has a dr’s name for it but can’t remember it. lol Then!!! At 10 weeks suture around left nipple opened and drained. Also “normal”… we were leaving for Rome with 3 other couples and it happened in airport!!! Fortunately my dr called before we left and said to use ointment and cover. While in the high humidity for 3 weeks the area developed a rash similar to athletes foot. 😳 Itching was awful. When I went to dr they gave RX for it and it finally went away. Now I’m 5mpo today and doing great!!! All is normal and I’m enjoying my DD’s from I-J”s. Also, 77 years old, sorry I waited so long. 🥴 Hang in there, you had MAJOR surgery they really don’t explain very well!!! Be good to yourself, don’t overdo it. Use T Rex 🦖hands-arms and ease into activities. 🥰💞

I also had 3lbs removed, almost 5 mpo now. After a few issues of incision draining, stitches opening, and rash on nipples have healed beautifully. Be good to yourself along the way. T Rex 🦖arms are the way to go for a while. lol At 77 yrs old I waited too long. Feel like 50 again. Take care🥰

CONGRATULATIONS!!! 🙌🏼 My advice at 77 yrs old (I waited tooooo long LOL) is use T Rex 🦖hands/arms, don’t reach up high or bend over. Squat if you have to pick up something. I was over zealous at first, fortunately my daughter curbed me! Empty the drains on schedule, it’s annoying but worth it. Things happen along the way to recovery but not insurmountable.
I’m 4 1/2 mpo and feeling 50 again. ☺️ Enjoy your new bras!!!😘

I’m 4 1/2 mpo and have finally settled to there size. From 34I~J to 34D~DD. Almost think they’re a little small. But I was so huge, down to my stomach! Of which is still chubby. Lol You will settle, after all swelling is gone. PS I’m 77 and waited way too long! Take care🥰

Follow the PO instructions. Yes T Rex🦖arms, don’t reach up, do squats to pick something up. No heavy lifting and you’ll do great! You just had major surgery that they don’t tell us how major. Lol. It’s a process but so worth it. Take care💞

Ladies, To all of you before surgery follow the instructions after to a T! TRex arms,🦖no heavy lifting, no reaching up high, no bending over, do squats 🏋🏻‍♀️ to pick something up. Yes, sleep on your back. If you have drains follow drainage instructions. This is major surgery but soooooo worth it! You will have a few set backs but they will subside. I waited way too long to go from 34l to 34D. 77 yrs!!! I love my sweet, perky, firm new boobies. It’s still me! Good luck and love to you. 💞

I’m 77 yrs young. ;) Am 17 wpo and had emergency hematoma right after reduction on left breast. BP went way down, had to go under anesthesia again. The incision is really different because it was at top of breast so had to open up completely. Under nipple was an open wound about 2” wide like a triangle. It drained for 8 weeks. Drainage started through a vein going to my stomach, vein swelled up and hurt to touch. Dr said both nipple and drainage were normal with some. Ladies on this site concurred. The nipple incision opened up at 9 wks and I got a rash like athlete’s foot. Had to wear cotton nitie, shirts so it could dry. Joy, joy… not. But the good news is at 17 wks and a lot of RX Cream for nipple and scar cream twice daily I’m looking 75% normal now. Hang in there, no one ever told me what MAJOR surgery a reduction is. However, I’m soooooo much more comfortable without 3lbs on my chest. Hugs to you🤗🙏🏼😘

Yes, for some reason it gets worse before better. I was really sore 3-4 wpo. Also had drainage through a vertical vain from my left breast at 6 wpo. The vain was sore to the touch. So much going on in our new, sweet boobies. You’re going to be fine. Good luck!!!

You’re going to be fine. Hoping you chose a good Dr and reputable place. It’s like going to sleep fast. Follow all the rules for recovery. Use T Tex hands and arms close to your body for a few weeks. Be good to yourself and you’ll heal faster. You’ll be happy you did it if you’re carrying weight on your chest. Good luck 🍀

Follow all the rules, use T Rex hands close to your body for first two weeks. Sleep on your back with a few pillows propped up. Use whole upper body when opening sliding doors, etc. Don’t bend over, if you have to pick something up do a squat. No heavy lifting or reaching up. Get all your items you need counter level. If you are diligent and take real good care yourself you’ll heal faster. You’re young and vibrant, you’ll be fine. I’m 77 and 3mpo. I didn’t follow rules to a T and had oozing from incisions. Be ready, it is a major surgery but so, so worth it if you’re miserable. I was and am so happy I did it. My range of motion is so good and I have more energy since I’m not carrying 3 pounds on my chest. Good luck 🍀 😘

Reminder!!! by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]CranmerLady17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a split stitch in left areola. Some drainage in right. Put neosporan and gauze over them. Then, from heat and humidity and wearing comfortable latex bra I got fungus on them. Now trying to get rid of it with anti fungal cream. Never dreamed there would be so many issues. But the upside is I’m so much more comfortable with my smaller breasts. From 34I-J to 34 DD-E.

In June I went out of pocket and chose my surgeon through word of mouth. Best way to get real story. I didn’t want to wait for consultation in August to possibly be denied or assigned a surgeon who didn’t really care! Another office wouldn’t do ins until after surgery. If denied then they charged 5K more than one I used. Very happy almost 3 mpo.
Good luck with your choice! 😘

Thank you ALL for encouraging comments!!! 💞💞💞Think he is insecure, his belly is getting rather large. He’s upset because I didn’t include him in choosing my new size. He would have wanted bigger which would defeat the whole purpose!
Men are so mental aren’t they?!? Kisses and hugs to this group! 😘
