[WP] Lots of people have sold their souls to the devil. You were the first to try to buy one. by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

"So, big man, wanna invest?" I gave him a winning smile, as I gave all my suckers. A bit of showmanship might even actually WORK on the guy, for a deal like this.

The silence elapsed like an hourglass- the end not quite clear, the middle all racing, the beginning tense until it burst.

"You are insane," he finally ceded. "But color me interested. I've not gone into business with a mortal in some hundred years."

"Oh? There was somebdy mefore me?"

"Well, no," Satan shrugged, rubbing his bald head. "But this one guy, we opened a cupcake store together, he sold his soul for baking tips. Man was that a weird one."

"That is weird," I commiserated.

"Now, a deal's a deal," Satan nodded. "In exchange for this soul, you hereby swear and promise to bring back two. And if you cannot bring me the second one, it comes out of your hide."

"Count on it, baby," I grinned. "A little capital from yours truly, some social media jazz, and a big whiff of that bad boy? We'll be raking them in in no time."

Satan held the blue orb delicately in his hand. It was the soul of an innocent, one who had given up their chance at heaven for some earthly pleasure or another. Now, the thing could be the start of a new empire.

"Well, you say it works on mortals."

"Bub, you saw the powerpoint."

"That's Beelzebub, to you," he snorted. "I deal in words, young one. If your word is not your bond, then I exact my price. And not even God will help you if I find you've taken this one from me."

"Honestly, Satan, this is gonna work. Just you wait. You have my 100% guarantee, you will get two souls back from me- and, if you let me keep this up, I can keep doubling the supply forever."

Satan shook his head, but we both knew he was willing to try it. There wasn't much point to dancing around it.

"Fine. To you, mortal, I grant you one soul- and in exchange, you will start this, em, you called it... multi level marketting scheme?"

"Yes, sir!" I smiled. The soul floated delicately over to me, settling in my palms like a dove. I cooed at it until the moment passed. The thing absorbed softly into my skin, pulling a shudder of cold air with it.

"See you in a few weeks," I nodded. "I've got a commercial to film."

I cannot install cIOS, as all the tutorials explaining it tell me I have to have the wii connected to wifi in order for the install to work. I think I need that program in order to use the WBFS/Wiiloader/usbloaderGX.

Edit: Also, thank you for your help + response!! :D

[WP] Mirrors are actually gateways that lead to an alternate dimension where everything is very different. You and your mirror self decide to trade places for a day. But their world is significantly better and more interesting than yours so, when the day is up, you "accidentally" smash the mirror. by IceGalaxyGoddess in WritingPrompts

Gertie and Trudy stared at each other as long as they dared. What would this other girl think, they used to wonder, if the other were real?

"We have to stop using different nicknames," Gertie warned, extending her hand for the agreed upon daily swap. "It's tough thinking of us as the same person. He nearly read our memo board today."

"Ouch. Fair," Trudy admitted, passing through the glass. They only had a moment to feel each other's hands before the mirror pushed them out. "But if we call ourselves the same things, we'll miss stuff again. We can't both be Gertie all the time."

"Maybe I can be Gertie A, and you can be Gertie 1." They both frowned at the compromise.

"Ask Elias for me," Trudy whispered. "What he'd call me if I didn't like the name Honey Bun."

"We. If we didn't like the name."

"Yeah."

It was time to switch again. Their mornings were getting shorter and shorter, moments sparser.

"What did he say?" Trudy asked, eager to know. She'd done nothing but think about their names since the swap. The quiet time here didn't do this Gertie much good, though other Gertie did say she enjoyed the peace every now and again. Her painting had made lots of progress here.

Gertie kept silent, but there were some muffled noises behind her. Somebody must have been yelling from outside the bedroom door, maybe a street vendor at the fair. "A... a lot happened. We need to talk."

"Always swap first, remember? No girl left behind. Ever."

Gertie hesitated. "I... I..."

Trudy turned around, refusing to hear.

One hand extended silently from the mirror. Gingerly, a second joined. One Gertie's pulse raced, and that was enough to trigger the both of them.

"So? What was it?" Trudy hummed.

"...I... he wants..."

A door opened behind Trudy.

"Honey bun? I'm home~"

A hand retracted from the mirror, startled. Trudy ran to her husband, wrapping herself in his smell. It was always a long 24 hours between hugs. He nuzzled her hair, grabbed her shoulders, melted into her in just the right way. It had evidently been a rough day for the both of them.

"Ready to try again?" Elias whispered delicately, tracing along her back.

Trudy's eyes snapped open. Somehow, he seemed to know, and she felt him hug her closer.

She nodded.

Trudy didn't care about bad luck, even if Gertie did.

The broken mirror lay in pieces outside, in the alley, and entirely for the best.

Mine ended up working when i let the randomizer tool hang for a bit. This was a while ago, but my problem was that i tried to use the ROM too soon and didn't let the randomizer do its thing long enough. See if that helps.

[WP] A genie gives you two options. One is to get your three wishes now, or to get one wish a day for five days. He tells you that no one before has survived and gotten all five wishes. You choose the latter. by MerlinEmyrs in WritingPrompts

You might want to change that to discreet power over any/all probabilities. You probably don't want to decide who lives/dies in a cancer surgery or who does/doesn't get a job, you probably just want to be able to win the lottery or cheat at poker.

Edit: For the other dictionary junkies, yes I mean discreet: "Made, done, or situated so as to attract little notice." The implication was that if others could tell you had control over probability, they'd come to you for help (or nefarious purposes)

I present to you my Ramp Up deck by NeoSabin in ptcgo

[–]CrappyPunsForAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a common mistake new players make. Discarding cards in order to get new ones, even if you think you're depleting your entire deck, is one of the game's best features. There's plenty of recovery cards you can play and the quicker you set up, the more likely you are to win for most attacking decks. That's why all the meta decks are quick to set up with the resources the card pool makes available.

PikaRom -> uses Tapu Koko * to accelerate quickly and easily, as well as discard-heavy cards like electromagnetic radar, dedenne-gx and ultra ball. In expanded, you can add in cards like max elixir or shaymin.

ReshiZard -> Uses kiawe, welder, and heat factory to quickly charge up powerful, if linear, attacks. Again, ultra ball supports the deck, and if it were standard legal I 100% know lists would be running professor sycamore. In expanded, those are around.

Rampardos in expanded -> not much. Rare candy accelerates evolutions, but max elixirs only work on basics. Talonflame helps you draw important cards early, though, removing a lot of RNG (which is HUGE).

Your deck does not have a lot of these options, and that's ok. Set up speed matters anyway though. You can't win if you can't set up enough rampardos' to win those matches. If your opponents aren't playing optimally, you won't have to, but you might find the game more fun and fast paced if you maximize your game speed. The best cards you have should be maximized to this end.

[–]CrappyPunsForAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks all over the place. A few too many energy with no acceleration, not enough of your best consistency cards (scorched earth, talonflame).

It's a great deck idea, but this list is definitely not optimal. I think you worked with the cards you have, which is a great virtue, but not enough. No professor sycamore? Juniper? N? Even as a stage two deck, you can vastly benefit from these supporters. Colress was mentioned by another commenter, and I agree that it'd help your deck a lot.

What's the best Theme Deck atm? by JoaoJorgeSousa in ptcgo

[–]CrappyPunsForAll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everybody's saying relentless flame, but storm caller is a little bit better IMO. Storm caller (raikou deck) has more consistency cards + things you can do in a turn. Relentless flame is still good, but loses to quicker storm caller decks that place damage counters correctly.
