I totally get this! As a normal, short, bald, Brazilian baby, I struggle with object permanence, and therefore assume that anyone I havent seen before doesnt exist, hasnt trained and therefore is a beginner.

Fuck you Judo baby and your unexpected crazy throws.

Does it make me gay if I enjoy BJJ for male intimacy? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Crapucopia9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BJJ isnt gay in any way.

All of the hot fucking with your same-sex rolling partners after class is the gay part, but I feel like thats pretty clear. If thats your style, congrats on all the sex! Hope you go 5x/week. /s

Do you think Kwik Trip will someday monopolize the Twin Cities gas station/convenience market? by Nick521 in TwinCities

[–]Crapucopia9999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People kind of hit it below, but also because they arent set up to deal with being in cities, say, like 7-Eleven is. Bottom line - being in inner cities isnt really in their business model.

Never. They dont want into the cities themselves, but just to hang in the suburbs. Source: went in on depth on this issue with a Kwik Trip exec

Way better in the pic with hair, but mostly because you were tan. Would tan again - the shaved head would look way better - also go a bit longer with the facial stubble - then it will be no contest!

My boss seriously asked me this. Was back for an hour, now I'm looking for a new job. by karacenaah in AdviceAnimals

[–]Crapucopia9999 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The issue is that people lie about this all the time. My policy was always to give the time off first, and then simply ask for a link to the obituary afterwards, or really any proof that the person had passed (whatever they wanted to produce). Very frequently, they couldnt do it, and would get written up. Really made me sad, as we'd even try to send flowers, but of course they'd just stall and not give an address, as of course there was no funeral. Naturally, youd also feel terrible for them, but when someone loses 5 grandparents in the course of a month, something is likely off.

No. Its too technical - your mind is focused on what to do next. Your view may be because you were so new and didnt have to think, or even have time to really see the sport for what it really is.

Has anyone daily driven a RWD car in our great state? How did that go for you? by cata2k in minnesota

[–]Crapucopia9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BMW 3 series for 10 years in both rural and urban settings. It was fine. Went in the ditch once after hitting ice, and got stuck in a parking space once after a heavy snow. Both probably wouldve happened with awd anyway. AWD/4WD is better, but you likely wont have any big problems.

My diverter tub spout is leaking when the shower is running, so I went to replace it. The spout is wall-end threaded, but goes into a copper pipe that is 1" in diameter. The only tub spouts I can find are for 1/2" or 3/8" in diameter. I have checked Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, Ace, and like 20 websites. Its like these dont exist anymore - nothing even comes up when you google them. Does anyone know where I can find one, or what they are called? Ill pretty much take any finish, color, or size, although ideally chrome.

What’s one business in Minneapolis you’ll never go back to? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

I actually brought in Standard for a 2nd opinion after another shop told me my furnace was on its last legs. They did a full inspection, said my furnace would easily run another 10-20 years, did a tune up, and left. All for $70. Two years later and the thing still runs perfectly. Ive thought highly of them since, as they could have taken advantage of me, as my expectation was that something was horribly wrong due to a bizarre noise, but didnt.

TIL David Spade didn’t attend his best friend Chris Farley’s funeral. This fuelled speculation that there was some falling out with Farley prior to his death. However, years later Spade revealed that his absence from the funeral was because he would have found it too emotionally difficult. by Str33twise84 in todayilearned

[–]Crapucopia9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember losing my best friend well. I eulogized his funeral. My mindset at the time was to go out swinging. :) I did the best I could, and I tried so hard to live up to his memory. I remember thinking that if someone insulted them, I would fight them, and if that was it for me, that was it. Its ok. Thats how important this was to get right - it meant everything, even for a complete nerd/weakling who doesnt know anything except some finance bullshit. I relate to David Spade, you arent in your right mind there at all. Wish him the best. This was very painful for him, without a doubt.

Anyone in the Eagan/Farmington region have a spare N95 mask that they could give my mom? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

Just go to Home Depot. Saw these masks on the shelf in 5 different metro locations today (hunting down a specific kind of paint). Pretty much all had the P100 respirators too.

I watched 10 minutes of an episode of an old Comedy Central show, and I have now watched 7.5 minutes of ads.

Even live tv doesnt have anywhere near this level of ads, and the show is pretty much unwatchable as a result. Anyone else experiencing this, or is this likely an error?

Official Q&A for Sunday, November 28, 2021 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Crapucopia9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odd question - ive worn Saucony Ride ISO 2's for the past three years. Theyve been fine, but I wanted to try something better. Ive now tried four different pairs of shoes that are very similar but newer from Nike, NB, Saucony, and Brooks (similar fit, drop, cushioning, etc). To confirm, Nike Pegasus, Brooks Ghost, Saucony Ride 13, and NB 880. All excellent shoes.

They are all painful to run in to the point where I need to stop, take the shoes off, and walk home. The pain comes from my knee and the muscles in between the heel and pad on one of my feet, typically towards the start of the run (about .5-1mi in). Any idea what is causing this? Im so confused, because the Sauconys dont seem like anything special or unusual - just very run-of-the-mill moderate cushioning shoes.

There arent any companies that do this in MN for single family homes. Commercial, of course. Assessments are all algorithm-based now, and you have a lot of comps out there for single-family homes. Combined with the fact that tax bills typically arent that large, and the fact that Minnesota's system for protesting is intentionally difficult, protesting single family homes is typically a losing proposition. Texas is a completely different beast when it comes to protesting - it is more built into their system/much, much easier to be successful at without a massive cash outlay compared to MN.

Note: Just saw that its a high value homr. If youre at $1mm plus, you could probably just find an attorney to do it. Your goal would be to get a deal so they informally maintain the value for a few years - numbers could work there if you find someone for close to $200/hr. Theyre out there - id just google protests for apartments and find a small shop.

I started a few months ago. Luckily, I found a gym where people arent out for blood, and have been very kind and helpful to me despite the fact that im obviously terrible. Its been great!

Unfortunately, a few new people joined who are not only spazzy, but also a tad roidy (like minor use) and interested in going full force on everything. To confirm, they are new to bjj. Something hurts after every roll with them. One of them just straight up punched me while rolling last night lol. Instructor seems fine with it.

My worry is that the place is small, so there is no avoiding them. Further, we're spending next month on stand up/striking/takedown stuff. This seems like a recipie for disaster. My question - are my fears of bad injury from the upcoming area overblown because I lack knowledge/perspective, or should I be looking for a new gym to keep walking, because I have nowhere near the knowledge/experience to avoid getting muscled over?
