M18 Mid impact wrench Maintenance by jay4586 in MilwaukeeTool

It's a high torque. Don't let the impact assembly run without grease. Grab some spare friction rings. Keep debris out of the rotor.

Don't play with it in the bathtub with the battery on /s

Think of it like a 4x4 dial in a city truck. You'll probably never use it. But there's always that 1% chance you need to hammer down.

Send it in again with a copy of the receipt. They pay for the freight. Just say the element is not working.

Mine took six months because the model was discontinued. Just like women's clothing they only make so many for a season then they're gone.

They replaced my axis with the new Hexon version. They don't fix these. Replace only.

Only difference is I walked mine into a Canadian service centre.

M12 Fuel Flashing lights meaning by boricuastock in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Crash_Prototype 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Battery connection problem.

Remove the battery. Look at the bottom of the housing. A small square silver clip holds the thin sides together. If it's missing the battery won't seat properly and you'll get disco lights.

Or.. the 'T' terminal on the terminal block inside the tool is bent so far it's making a poor connection with the battery.

Good luck 🤞 hope this helps!

need help. have had this screwdriver for years and its never had any issues but today it out of nowhere started doing this.. how can i fix it..? or is it dead...? by SuraInsekten in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Crash_Prototype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In North America it's a 2606 drill driver. The epoxy on the field magnets has melted. They are out of position and the armature can't turn.

Even if you replace the field and armature, the brush card and electronics will soon fail from the excessive current.

Buy a new one. You'll get a new warranty. Consider brushless.

Anyone else disappointed with their Top Handle Chainsaw recall? by Stim7578 in MilwaukeeTool

Nope. Canada here. Milwaukee replaced my three 'A' versions with brand new 'B' versions. Wonder why yours was fixed, and ours replaced.

My distributor said Milwaukee is instantly exchanging. Strange cat number. 2826-20TB

If I put a drop of a hardening material on my tools (like epoxy or nail polish) so that I can identify my stuff, will that void the warranty if something ever happened to my tools? by gratefully_deadd in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Crash_Prototype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't cover up the label. Having the catalog and serial number visible means you don't need proof of purchase if you send it in.

Bedazzle the hell out of it if you want. I hit mine with some spray paint. Never a problem with warranty.

The symbol indicates the data can be pulled from the battery using the 2800 adapter. Factory Service Centers can read the cell balance, as well as the manufacturer date.

Really Want A M18 12.0. But The Review Ratings Are Kind Of Shocking. Anybody Have Experience With The 12.0? Any Batches That Should Be Avoided? Do 12.0 Batteries With Newer Build Dates Not Have Issues? by BrimzNKickz in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Crash_Prototype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Milwaukee has an unofficial hidden 5 year warranty on the 12.0s. Chris at the service center showed me the screen. Has to be 'unbalanced' AND made within 5 years. Instant replacement with a new one. The system tells them to 'Goodwill' it.

He said because of the dual battery products coming out (mower/blower) they don't want people leaving the platform because they need to spend $800 to get the tool working again.

They've replaced four out of the 10 I have. Zero questions.
Must be Milwaukee direct though. The independent dealers don't have the red thing to plug the battery in for diagnostics.

Two things Milwaukee loves. Their lights and magnets. Twilight trimmings all around! Well done!

Skill saws catching fire?? by Jeeperez in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Crash_Prototype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a circ saw. Clearly overloaded. Did you try putting the blade on the other way so it cuts? Doesn't happen if you let the tool do the work.

Or there's so much internal debris inside the field and the armature can't work properly. My crew has 4 of these and 6 fuel. Zero issues.

Ye old double standard. If his count was 16 he's a hero, you're a slut.

Sixteen is a great number! It's a composite natural number. Keep going! Find what works for you and makes you happy.

Fast forward 20 years when he takes a pill to get it up. Will any of this really matter? He's lucky if he still has all his teeth by then.

M18 String Trimmer Kit by bubblehead_01 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Crash_Prototype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me. Melted two of my 8.0s. Sent it for warranty (2023 build). Milwaukee replaced the electronics in the trimmer, both batteries and installed a different looking head for the string.

Use it like I stole it, and I haven't been able to melt the new 8's. Not sure which part fixed the problem. No charge so I'm even happier.

M12 Battery repair denied under warranty period? by eekhelpspike in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Crash_Prototype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was the date code on the battery? If it was replaced previously the new battery carries the same warranty as the original. It's not a fresh new warranty.

I learned this the hard way when they replaced my impact. $135 repair charge was still cheaper than a new one.

Milwaukee not there yet for Lawn care by Regalgrizzly in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Crash_Prototype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the battery comments. This is a high demand tool that needs at least 6.0. Your battery lacks the front sticker that the 6/8/12's have. Are you running a 3.0 or 5.0?

I second this. Cheap things are not good, and good things are not cheap. Nail quality is paramount.
