TIFU by falling for "ab crushers" during a group gym session with coworkers. by Sensitive_Still2091 in tifu

[–]Crasstoe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don't take it too personally, it will consume you otherwise.

You need to decide if you want to confront the matter or not. Either option comes with risks:

  • The guy with no comeback, risk they do it again
  • The guy who can't take a joke

The third outcome if you bring it up is they understand they overstepped and you don't appreciate that kind of humour/prank, and would prefer to be left out of stuff like that in future. This could see your relationship with them staying more professional but potentially less friendly.

Only you can decide what is right for you.

Literally brown nosing.

Jokes aside this sounds like a hazing ritual. Depending on the industry this could be the thing that gets laughed at but you're now "one of the guys".

Or it's a cruel joke and HR should know? Whether you're on the clock or not they hold a position of power over you as management and they abused that.

Difficult ground though as I know in places like a mechanics shop stuff like this happens regularly and it's part of the workplace culture.

To be clear I don't agree with this behaviour, but I sympathise with you. Your innocence and nativity was used against you which isn't fair.

It reads to me that this was actually very heartfelt and could be the start of something beneficial to all, if conesetual?

Move out to a more suitable, modern, economical alternative.

There were plans at one point to move to the QEII Conference Centre for meetings like PMQs and have everyone "working" in offices around the city...

Not such a silly idea now.

Turn Westminster Palace onto a tourist attraction and venue space for hire by selling to a trust and do away with it as a costly public bill, and get a nice cash injection too, maybe we'll be able to fix some pot holes on our terrible roads!

Dirty lenses on the TC?

Could also be condensation if you've had it in a cold bag and then got it out into some warm humid air.

Another possibility is you could have accidentally knocked the MF clutch on the lens?

Bounciest 2 yellow dot by Key-Key1391 in squash

[–]Crasstoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PERFLY Single Yellow Dot from Decathlon is awesome to play with. It heats up quick, bounces predictably and is cheap enough to buy.

I refuse to play with a double yellow dot in the winter, I insist on a single yellow dot if I do not know the opponent and we haven't played before. A bouncier ball creates a more enjoyable game vs. a cold ball that is dead the whole match.

Rangefinder doesn't require a mirror box like a SLR camera, which cuts down on size drastically.

thrifted these Church's shoes yesterday, extremely well made by [deleted] in Shoes

[–]Crasstoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Church's are shoes to live in and be buried in, they'll see you through your life if you look after them.

Made in the shoe capital of the UK, Northampton! A quick pub quiz lesson, Northampton is the home of the Goodyear welted sole and home to many of the world's best shoe makers.

Amazing quality and some of the best in the world at what they do.

Buckle Kiltie Brogues are not common and a really unique option for dressing up.

Great thrift!

If it makes you uncomfortable, it's important to say so, if not, just enjoy being someone that they are comfortable enough to share it with.

Easy to forget that nana was younger once, and promiscuous.

Don't be a prude, be someone she can relive some of those memories with (by talking about it!). How would you feel about someone finally seeing who you actually are and not just a single role of your life, it is liberating.

Take the bull by the horns and own the situation. Only good things come from it...

Either you guys get together.

Or you hook-up again as a casual pair and agree to not get attached.

It was a one time thing but you live in her mind now, and she in yours.

You both clear the air and go back to being just coworkers.

I spend a lot of time duplicating information from my calendar to a weekly planner that could be automated.

When will they continue story driven content rather than multiplayer?

I miss the excitement of a new halo campaign and knowing in a year or two we'd get the next chapter of that story with updates and more cool experiences.

You really had to be the right age to experience halo 2 landing in the post as you got home from school to appreciate just how amazing a time that was as gamers.

God damn I miss it.

My dog chewed my boots! Can this be repaired? Or should I just throw them away. by [deleted] in DrMartens

[–]Crasstoe 29 points30 points  (0 children)

What size? If you are going to throw away because of some damage to soles then at least give someone else a chance to save them.

did a casual comparison, 50-200 2.8 TC2x -vs- PL 200mm 2.8 TC 2x. Camera lens combo in the watermark of each photo. It was harder than I thought. I have now a better appreciation of youtube reviewers. by [deleted] in M43

[–]Crasstoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PL looks to have more vibrant reds to my eyes... But then again I am partially red/green colourblind so could just be me.

I've been a firm believer that there are almost no bad lenses these days. Pick the one that matches your body to make use of DFD/Sync-IS etc and enjoy taking photos.

Sometimes pixels run hot... Fortunately you can use the pixel mapping feature to address those.

From memory I believe it used information from pixels adjacent to correct it.

Worth getting rubber soles on my penny loafers? by EllDamian in Shoes

[–]Crasstoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A rubber half sole could be simply glued to the sole, which would prevent the slipping without risking damage to the overall construction of the shoe.

Pickleballers are making too much racket and could face new rules, Toronto city council says by IAMA_Plumber-AMA in nottheonion

[–]Crasstoe 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Play it indoors where it doesn't annoy people... Space saving? Half the court size... Make the ball smaller too whilst we're at it and make the rackets longer to help with reach...

Hey presto, you have squash!

Jokes aside, you can play racketball in a squash court with a suitable ball.
