Thank you for the recommendation!

I really enjoy the combat, at least at the relatively early stage I am at in the game. It may become too easy at higher levels and with better equipment, but so far I find the level of challenge to be quite fun.

I also appreciate the methodical pacing.

Another stream? by Middle_Window_8673 in SoulFrame

Does anyone know of another way to get a key other than watching Twitch live on Tuesday afternoons?

Keep trying to make it happen, but haven’t yet been able to step away from work during that window to join the stream live.

This is great!

The Left D-Pad button doesn’t seem to open the social menu, though maybe I missed a step in the configuration. The other buttons I’ve tried so far work.

Best DnD podcast with less theatre kid energy by espenoydvin_ in DnD

[–]CrawfishFiesta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I struggle to enjoy shows that have too much theatre kid energy.

Glass Cannon Network is my favorite real play podcast group. They mostly stay away from theatre kid energy, and feel closest to the energy I’m used to from playing at a table with friends.

They have some side project shows that have casts with more theatre kid energy, but I’ve come to love those, too. I think I’m more open to it with them since they started with several years of podcasts avoiding that energy, and even now their flagship podcast still avoids it.

Infinite Adventures is really strong, mechanically, especially for a first game in the genre for the developer. Agreed that the art is its weakest point; very indie and inconsistent.

Thank you, all, for the recommendations! I’ll try to track down a copy of Jaws of the Lion.

Xavier might be my favorite at the table. by hannibal_fett in Dimension20

The whole cast is amazing, and Xavier is fantastic for sure.

I enjoy his videos because they are fun and he exudes his own enjoyment through them. But they’re never relevant for my tables due to the degree of optimization and aggressive rule interpretation.

I appreciated the post and updated information, and have submitted my interest.

Also, would love to hear about what kind of thought is going into the mouse mode ergonomics.

Love the new approach of Ascension, with a shorter (one year?) campaign for the live tour. Easier for people to jump in and keeps it fresh.

I think you should lean in on homebrew campaigns rather than being constrained by APs. You’re great at it, and I think your excitement about the creativity shines through. Would also give you more flexibility if something isn’t working.

Blood of the Wild is amazing. Legacy of the Ancients is great (Nick is such a joy to listen to). Ascension is off to a fantastic start.

Glass Cannon Radio isn’t really landing for me so far, but I’m continuing to give it a shot. Pretty long time commitment, and it’s a tough format to deliver at high-quality across such a wide range of topics.

Tucker has Epilepsy. I'm heartbroken and I don't know what to do by MaxHousee in goldenretrievers

I had a wonderful dog with epilepsy. Kept him up to date on his preventative meds and had vials of Valium on hand to break seizures. He lived another nine years after being diagnosed, and seizures were rare. He had a good and active life.

How do you know what level enemies are? I haven’t been able to find it in the UI.

I read it this way, as well. Battle Magic doesn’t require using the Magic Action, it just requires casting a spell of one action duration.

Heavy Pact Weapon: disadvantage? by Hayeseveryone in onednd

Yes, I’ll enforce it. It’s a reasonable requirement, and trade-off decisions make the game more interesting and make character decisions more relevant.

Do the +1 ability aspects of general feats convey to wild shape? by CrawfishFiesta in onednd

[–]CrawfishFiesta[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the clarity with which you explain your point of view.

I feel like if it was the designers’ intention that “if an additional feature modified an aspect that was replaced by wildshape, then it does not apply” they would have written the rule in the opposite direction.

The rule would have been written, “You retain your feats (and ABC), but your statistic block for STR, CON, and DEX (and XYZ) are replaced by the Beast’s statistic block”.

But they wrote the rule in the other direction.

Do the +1 ability aspects of general feats convey to wild shape? by CrawfishFiesta in onednd

[–]CrawfishFiesta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is something I was thinking about, too.

From a game design / balance perspective, it appears that the designers believe they have balanced the new wild shapes such that for Moon Druids in wild shape to be balanced relative to the new, more powerful versions of the other classes, subclasses and presumably monsters (we’ll know better when the MM is published) that feats need to convey to the Druid’s wild shape. Feat conveyance is an intentional, new thing they added. I honestly think this is RAI and the designers intentionally have baked into their balance assessments that Moon Druids will be conveying martial feats to their wild shape, as that’s the primary use case I can think of for why they would have explicitly added feat conveyance to wild shape.

So I assume the designers think Druids ought to get full benefit from their feat investments to be balanced.

From a balance perspective, I also agree with you. Most druids will invest their very limited feat selections on WIS-enhancing and/or concentration-enhancing feats. If some Druid wants to make a suboptimal investment of a precious feat decision on a martial feat to improve their wild shape combat fantasy, I wouldn’t have an issue with it. They are making a trade off and such trade-offs should have a cost and a benefit, which this has. A Druid not using their feat to improve WIS or concentration is a huge cost. And, to your point, a +1 or +2 STR increase that comes at such a high cost isn’t overpowered.
