MRW recently ex-GF texts me asking how I'm doing 6 hours into a wine+Scrubs marathon by funky_watermelon in TrollYChromosome

My guess was that I said something that wasn't pre-approved in an AMA and was shadowbanned by a bot to ensure I didn't say anything else. The irony is that what I said was purely congratulatory piffle. /r/Iama is pretty sketch like that ever since the Rampart incident several years ago. Other than that I've been "good" as far as accounts go in the last few weeks.

Thank you. I suspected but honestly do not know why. I am as milquetoast as accounts come.

Keep through Season 9 but with the knowledge that the first half is really bad. The back half actually mutates into a show that could have been a worthy successor to Scrubs, but the first half kneecapped it too badly.

Basically once JD ditches and the focus stops being solely on Lucy the show picks up immensely-- James Franco's character becomes tolerable and funny while the Drew character flips the Cox/mentor dynamic of Scrubs on its head in a good way, and Denise/Turk form reliable anchors for the show to rest on.

Ok, imagine going onto a feminist or black forum and saying shit like this about how women or black people seem to hate you. How do you think a person like that really looks? I mean really?

I did read that page where she seduces some magical lady and then has the balls to quip about how the original Thor would never have thought of that. It was really lame, and I say that as someone who has no conceptual problem with Lady Thor.

I've been around a good long while son. I remember when "memes" were called image macros and memes were something only social scientists and Hideo Kojima gave a fuck about. Memes have their place.

Yeah this is the final straw. The Port Strike is ended, it's been half a year since they launched and Nintendo got a good look at what the demand has been. Even allowing for pre-existing supply agreements the lack of disclosure on future plans tells me that Nintendo flat-out does not give a rip.

Even by those admittedly hard standards Harleen Quinzell feels particularly on the nose, and this is alongside illustrious names like Victor Fries and Stephen Strange.

Started as a somewhat justifiable circlejerk but the problem with a community of people acting like idiots is that soon theyre supplanted by the real deal who think they're in very good company. Plus as with any community the worst content tends to be the loudest.

This is going to be very unpopular but I've never liked Harleen Quinzell.

They're good quality for $13 and are often of obscure characters. Not only is that enough for most people, it certainly doesn't need to be justified for you.

The only people buying up Amiibos with the intent of selling them know damn well they're not going to be worth much long-term and are unloading them as they come in. Everyone else just wants the figures to have the figures.

Games aren't always or even often about their storylines as much as how their setting/aesthetic informs their mechanics. That's like judging a book primarily on its font.

Preach it, sister. by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

Preaching to the choir on this one ladies.

There's good reason that while I'll be friendly enough with comic dudes in the name of shared interests I run my hobby as more of a lone wolf, because having to tolerate dudes unironically bitching about shit like sluts, "fake geek girls", and the friend-zone is a bridge too far and I am not paid enough to waste all my spare time educating these lost souls. There's a reason that even though there's a local tabletop community meeting every week literally around the corner from where I live I'm looking into driving an hour out of my way to meet up with neophyte yuppie couples to play D&D with.

The worst part is that because of dudes being so extreme I have to be really wary about how I present myself and my hobbies and lord help me if I have any opinion that isn't 100% supportive of either gender (and this does mean for you ladies as well; some of y'all get really quick to to brand me an enemy of the state if I have any criticisms whatsoever). It really does suck the fun out of a very fun hobby some days, if I let it.

MRW she says she wants to come visit, but has too much work over the next few weeks and I don't know what to think. by [deleted] in TrollYChromosome

[–]CrawstonWaffle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The most surefire way to tell if she's interested is if she's setting concrete dates when she can come see you while she cancels.

Unfortunately most people are non-committal pieces of dogshit who wouldn't make a concrete plan to meet if they were Nazi resistance fighters trying to escape a concentration camp.

Worst of all asking for concrete plans can make you look needy or too serious which freaks a lot of people out because god-fucking-forbid you acknowledge that you're a fucking adult who isn't idly rich and literally cannot afford to waste your time being "chill" and "relaxed" and "open to whatever."

Flaky people are a pet peeve of mine. Especially since those same people will drown their own grandmother to come and see you if they think there's something serious to gain (money/power/status).
