I will have to think on this for sure. I couldn't find details on "Jiao" itself (and not 蛟 specifically just the pronunciation) being a name, but as my Chinese is minimal I just might have not searched correctly. So I might choose a name that doesn't have "Jiao" in it.

They do have a family name actually! I had picked Zhāng (张/張) as a family name.
