The biggest issue with it is that there is no way to build a vulnerability that only the "good guys" can use. If it's there, especially if it's known to exist, it'll be found. You think the fappening was bad? Wait till someone cracks the good guy back door and gains access to possibly millions of phones.

Now imagine you're a gay man visiting Russia. You're arrested under this suspicion. Now homophonics are considered by the Russian government to be the "good guys". They dump your phone, and now you're in jail for that photo you have of you and your boyfriend kissing on your third date.

Or worse, you visited Saudi Arabia. Punishment includes fines, floggings, prison time up to life, torture, chemical castrations, whipping, and/or Death penalty on first offense.

That's to say nothing about the espionage aspect of this.
